Find Holiday accommodation in France

September's Living France magazine features How To Let Out Your French Property, while French Property News has a major article on bringing in extra income for gites and holiday lets. Both are written by our own Glynis Shaw, based on her years of experience and lively ideas, with two French Connections holiday home owners as case studies.

Living France is aimed at Francophiles who are living - or planning to live - their dream in la belle France. The two-page How To Let guide (on page 76) gives practical, step-by-step advice on everything from the basics like providing the right facilities and setting prices to test driving before letting, advertising online and being a good host.

Glynis is also on a panel of experts answering readers' questions in the same issue. She gives great tips on how to find someone to look after a holiday let property in the owners' absence.

September is the 'money issue' of French Property News, so it's appropriate that Glynis's feature is about exploring extra income streams such as providing meals, selling art or produce, arranging activities and experiences, booking therapies and beauty treatments.

Two inspiring owners also tell their stories. They are artist Gill Masters of Bordebasse in the Aude, who gives art classes and sells her own paintings, and Amanda and Tim Walsh of La Flotte in Charente-Maritime, who are tempting visitors with home-cooked meals and wines from small local vineyards.

Living France and French Property News magazines are on sale at W H Smith, by mail subscription and through digital online versions.
