Home description

Our old stone provencal house retains its original character and features include original tiled floors,wooden beams and shutters and is situated in the quiet part of this medieval hill top village, which is steeped in history , the old Fort at the top of the village was reputed to be the Saracen headquarters in the 11century.Set in the oak and chestnut forests of The Massif de Maures, above St Tropez. There are Plane Tree shaded squares, fountains and a good variety of shops, restaurants and cafe bars, all within two minutes walking distance from the house. There is a twice weekly market in the village.

The house is on three floors and has been sympathetically decorated in provence style.

The ground floor  has a large lounge and utility room.

The first floor has two double bedrooms, with views overlooking the village,and a single room at the back,a bathroom and separate lavatory.

The top floor has a double bedroom,withe views across the village to the mountains beyond, a shower room with toilet, large lounge with kitchen and dining room included, with spectacular views again and a door leading to the garden terrace at the back of the house where there is a small garden for eating out , this exit can also be used for going down to the village should anyone have a problem with the stairs

About the location

We are 20 minutes from the Bay of St Tropez  where there is a twice weekly market and St Maxime where there is Aqua Land and you can also take a boat across to St Tropez. The long six mile stretch of Pampellonne beach near St Tropez where their are restuarants and bars, some private, where you can hire beds umbrellas etc, but in between, public beaches, with safe swimming and clear water. Just one hour away from the spectacular Gorge du Verdon with its amazing canyons for kayacking and lakes for swimming.

How to get there

From Nice:

Take A8-E80 direction Cannes. After passing sortie 36 continue for 19kms. Leave Motorway at Le Cannet-des-Maures, Le Luc sortie (where the A8 intersects with the A57-Toulon motorway). On second roundabout take D558 direction St Tropez - La Garde Freinet, a distance of 20kms, a longish winding descent up to the village.

From Aix-en-Provence:

Take the A8-E80 direction Nice-Cannes. After passing sortie 35, carry on for 25kms. Leave the motorway as above.
