Home description

Set in 2.5 acres of parkland gardens, our 2 gites offer a great secluded base from which to explore the surrounding historic region or simply relax in the gardens or by the pool.

Located in the rural hamlet of Croux, only 4 miles away from the medieval town of Bergerac, the two gites are ideally situated for visiting many of the attractions that the Aquitaine has to offer.

Accommodation detail

Double bedroom in the Mouton gite.

The accommodation consists of:

• Double bedroom
• Twin bedroom
• Kitchen - fully equipped including large fridge freezer, gas hob, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher
• Living area - has a sofa-bed. It also features a large open fireplace, which along with the exposed beams throughout give the gite a rustic feel.
• Dining area -  a large dining table with 6 chairs makes up the dining area
• Shower room - modern room with shower, toilet and hand basin

Outside

Both gites have an outdoor decked area with seating and barbecue. The pool is adjacent to the gites and is completely enclosed by a regulation 1.10m high fence. Sun loungers and umbrellas are provided around the pool.

The parkland is mainly grass, with a copse that is home to many different varieties of bird and red squirrels.

About the location

The gites are located in a small hamlet just to the north-west of Bergerac called Croux. Although Croux does not have any restaurants or shops, Bergerac just 3km away has numerous Cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. The gites are located on a quiet rural chemin which makes exploring the surrounding countryside on foot or by bike both easy and safe.

To the west lie St Emilion and Bordeaux, with their numerous Chateaux and vineyards both are a must see for the wine buff. To the west lies Les Eylieze with many prehistoric sites. Closer to Bergerac there are many restaurants, bars, lakes, activity parks and a Go-kart track. Whatever your tastes there is something in Bergerac for you.

How to get here

The gites can be found 5 minutes to the north-west of Bergerac, accessible from either the D709 Bergerac to Mussidan road or the D13 Bergerac to Montpon road.

The gites are just 15 minutes away from Bergerac airport which has regular flights from the UK all year round.

If you are travelling down by car, we are approximately 8hrs from the main channel ports.
