Introduction

La Roche is a lovely 18th Century farmhouse, located a few minutes drive from one of the Loire’s finest Château towns, Le Lude. Set in a quiet valley surrounded by fields, this charming French ‘Fermette’ is centred around a beautiful courtyard, with outbuildings including a large barn, a second barn with pressoir and underground wine cave and a set of quaint former pig sties.

Available to let all year round, the house, which has recently been renovated to a very high standard, provides ample accommodation for six people in three large bedrooms.

In the heart of the Pays de la Loire, La Roche stands within approximately three quarters of an acre of grounds, close to the famous Le Loir river.

A few miles from the towns of Le Lude and Noyant, which both boast a wealth of restaurants and bars and host weekly markets, the farm is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area, or simply relax in the warm sunshine.

Accommodation detail

La Roche lies at the end of private farm lane off a quiet public road.

Set within approximately three quarters of an acre of grounds, the accommodation comprises of:

• Kitchen / Living Room
  This very large room has particular character with oak beams and a wood burner. The kitchen contains all the essentials required for a vacation with the room also containing a walnut dining suite, kitchen table and chairs and a three piece suite. A large stable door opens out into the courtyard.
• Bedroom 1 with en-suite
  On the ground floor this very large double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with toilet and wash basin. This room also has a large stable door which opens onto the courtyard.
• Bedroom 2
  This is a large double bedroom with a French window onto a small balcony overlooking fields. It also has a dormer window overlooking the courtyard.
• Bedroom 3
  This is a good sized twin bedroom with dormer window overlooking the courtyard.
• Bathroom
  Situated between bedrooms 2 and 3 and containing bath (with shower), toilet and wash basin.

Outside

The farm sits in approximately three quarters of an acre with various outbuildings including a large barn, second barn with pressoir and underground wine cave, former pig sties and a lean to barn. There is also a large grassed area, barbecue area and a well (which is fenced off for children).

About the location

La Roche is situated on the outskirts of the village of Disse-sous-le-Lude, 2 miles outside the lovely Château town of Le Lude, in the Loir Valley. Almost equi-distant from the cities of Le Mans, Tours and Angers, Le Lude is easily reachable from the UK by car, plane or rail making short or long breaks possible.

The local village, within 1km of La Roche, this beautiful quaint hamlet contains a boulangerie and café.

Le Lude
Two miles from the farm, Le Lude, together with its famous château, provides everything you need for your vacation. From supermarkets to bars, restaurants, boulangeries and banks, together with a weekly market and a tourist information centre. Bike hire, tennis courts and swimming are also available.

Loir Valley
One of the most beautiful areas of France, the Loir Valley, literally has something for everyone.  From the world famous Châteaux, the colourful frescoes of churches and chapels, the sights and sounds of the national forest of Bercé, the extraordinary gardens, troglodyte caves and famous wines and vineyards, to the myriad of activities and a zoo at La Fléche (one of France’s finest).

How to get here

By Ferry & Car
La Roche is easily reachable by car from the UK, with ferry crossings from either Dover to Calais or Dunkirk or Portsmouth to either Caen, Cherbourg or St. Malo.

La Roche is approximately 5 hours drive from Calais or 2 hours drive from Caen.

By Plane
Ryan Air fly directly from London Stanstead to Tours with flights taking just over an hour.  La Roche is approximately 40 minutes from Tours airport, and car hire can be arranged in advance or at the airport itself.

By Rail
Taking the Eurostar from London Waterloo, Dartford or Ashford to Paris you can then board the TGV from Paris to Le Mans (approximately 1 hour 30minues from Paris) or Tours (approximately 2 hours from Paris).

Journey times by car from both Tours and Le Mans are then approximately 40 minutes to La Roche.
