Elegant 19th Century Estate Offering Self-Catering Accommodation
A beautifully elegant early 19th century Estate made up of a “Maison de Maître”, two gîtes and numerous outbuildings. The Domaine des Charmettes is a wonderful vacation place with a large swimming pool, flower gardens, and old "parasol" pine trees situated in a quiet area at the edge of the village of Laudun. The swimming pool has a removable telescopic cover for mid-season swimming.
Laudun is located 8 km south of Bagnols-sur-Cèze in the Western part of Provence and the northern part of the Languedoc Roussillon region. The village is well known for Gallo-Roman ruins and famous for its "Côtes du Rhône Village" wines. The Domaine des Charmettes makes and bottles its own wine.
Whether you are looking for some serious sightseeing or planning to sit it the sun around the pool and just enjoy being in France, Les Charmettes has a lot to offer.
The two vacation gîtes (accommodations) are distinctive in style, sharing a combination of comfort, and Mediterranean warmth that define the "Country French" style. They are available for rent separately or together all year long. Rent both gîtes together and you have excellent accommodation for two or more families wishing to spend a vacation together.
There is a large floodlit swimming pool surrounded by sun beds in an enclosed garden. Outdoor furniture for dining and a large outdoor barbecue complete the scene. In the pool area there is the possibility of choosing between sitting in the sun or in the shade of several old fig trees. The swimming pool has a removable semi-telescopic cover for mid-season swimming and "solar" heating.
Provence is just as lovely off-season as during the high season. The blue skies and sunshine are present most of the year. The winters are somewhat cold but short. Off-season visits to Provence are great for anyone wanting to visit everything but to beat the crowds.
The owners Laura and Theirry d’Esperonnat are a Franco-American couple who live on site who love to sit down over a glass of wine and share winemaking experiences and talk abbout the area, places to visit, things to see, wines to be tasted, etc.
