Home description

Le Refuge is situated on the edge of the tranquil farming hamlet of Rouffenac and has beautiful unspoilt views of the open countryside and valley. It is the perfect location for you to discover the many delights that the Aveyron has to offer.

At Le Refuge you will experience high standards of accommodation combined with a truly relaxing atmosphere; in short, the perfect setting for you to indulge in a well earned stress free break. Set in our one hectare garden we have a large swimming pool with roman steps for easy access and for that little bit of indulgence the pool also has a Jacuzzi attached.

Each of our three gîtes has its own private terrace and we also have a large converted barn which is equipped with a pool table, gym equipment and table tennis table for the use of all our guests. Le Refuge also has two en suite Chambres d’ Hôtes.

The owners also live on site and will be happy to help you enjoy your stay in any way they can.

Le Refuge is just 40 minutes from Rodez Airport or Toulouse Airport is just 1 ½ hours away.

We can also provide a 3 course evening meal with wine and coffee at €18 per person.

Tournesols gîte sleeps up to 6 people.

The accommodation comprises:

• Lounge / dining room - open plan room with double bed settee.
• Kitchen - fully equipped, including gas cooker, microwave, fridge, dining table and four chairs, and a television. We also supply an Iron and ironing board.
• Double bedroom
• Twin bedroom
• Bathroom - large room with ‘his and hers’ washbasin, shower and toilet.

Electric heating throughout for winter/Autumn lets.

For all of our guests there is free use of shared washing machine and tumble drier available on site.

About the location

Rouffenac is 8 kms from the market town of Cassagnes de Begonhes and 5 kms from the Château de Taurines and sits at 560 metres above sea level on the Segala plateau. Rodez is 27 kms north of Le Refuge.

A must for visitors is a visit to some of the “Plus Beau Village de France”, “The most beautiful villages in France”. This is a prestigious club of 139 villages which have been chosen for their character, heritage and the desire of the inhabitants to protect their uniqueness. The Aveyron has 9 of these villages which is more than any other department in France.

How to get here

The airport at Rodez is just 27 km from Le Refuge which is served by Ryanair from Stansted and Dublin. Toulouse airport is only 1½ hours drive away which is served by airlines departing from most major airports in the UK including Birmingham, Southampton, Bristol, Cardiff, Newcastle, Glasgow, Aberdeen and many more. You can also fly into Nîmes and Carcassonne both of which are within 2 hours drive of Le Refuge. The A75 from the north of France is approximately 50 kms away.
