Ideal for those seeking to get away from urban stress and pollution, Domaine d’En Pilote offers everything one could need for a restful stay. Located in the Lauragais countryside, on top of a hill (altitude 280 metres), Domaine d’En Pilote is located a few hundred meters from Mourvilles-Hautes, a little village in the Midi-Pyrénées region. About half way between Toulouse and Carcassonne, cultivated fields surround the Domaine d’En Pilote, a beautiful place where one can enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside and the nearby villages of Juzes or Bélesta sur Lauragais.

In this peaceful farm cottage, you will be able to relax, enjoy the life of the South West region of France with its traditional local dishes, the Cassoulet of Castelnaudary or the wines of Minervois. You can also discover the historical sites of the region such as Carcassonne, a medieval walled city, and the Cathar castles or go walking and discover the riches of our region.

The property covers an area of 7500 m². You will be able to discover several species of local flowers, some quite well known, others unexpected and rare. In the southern part of the property, the orchard where the owners grow seasonal fruits. You can also enjoy the swimming pool (10 m x 5m) during the hot sunny weather.

You will be able to find supermarkets, post offices, ATM and other services in Villefranche-de-Lauragais (6 km) or Saint-Felix-de-Lauragais (12 km).

Information about the region or other items: including maps, games, DVDs, magazines about the S/W region and books are at your disposal in the reception, on request.

Accommodation detail

La Forgem is located on the western part of the main building, is made of local stones, and has been restored in 2004. It can accomodate up to 6 persons. This part of the house is dating from the XVIIth century.

• Living room - with open fireplace where you will be able to relax, read or plan your next visit in the region? There is also a colour TV, with cable channels, internet connexion and a DVD player.
• Kitchen/dining room - all the necessary equipment is provided, including a cooker, fridge, oven, dish washer and washing machine. 

First floor

Outside

In the garden, which faces east, you will be able to sunbathe or have lunch outside, with scenic views of the countryside, the mill in the village, the village of Belesta, with its small castle.

General Information

The owners provide you with fully furnished accommodation, including bed sheets, table napkins and towels. Bread and little grocery products are delivered on a daily basis at home, by the baker van.

Cleaning: During your stay, you will be required to keep the cottage clean and tidy. However, the owners can provide you with this service, should you require it, at the end of your stay or once a week. You can ask for details when you book into the cottage, or at any time during your stay.

Swimming pool: You are welcome to sunbathe and make use of the swimming pool. It’s located in the southern part of the estate, between the house and the orchard.

About the location

The Lauragais region is well known in French history for both its trade and culture. Today you can still observe the ruins some renovated, some not of our regional heritage. The most famous part of the history of this region relates to its botanical past, namely the making of ‘woad’. If you are planning to visit the region, you must not miss the legendary medieval walled city of Carcassonne, the Cathar castles or our regional dishes and wines, to be discovered.

Sites of interest a short drive from the property:

• The mill (a classified historic monument) and the church - of Mourvilles-Hautes, a few hundred meters from the Property.
• Toulouse - about 30 minutes drive from the property is the city of Toulouse, (la ville rose) the capital of the Midi-Pyrénées region of France, with a large range of cultural and technological places to visit, such as the City Hall (La Place du Capitol), the Basilique of Saint Sernin, the Midi Canal and the city of Space are a few of the attractions to visit.
• Juzes - and its castle (2,5 km)
• Bélesta-en-Lauragais - and its Castle (2 km)
• Montmaur - located at 4 km from the domain
• Saint Félix de Lauragais (12 km) - famous for its covered market place, its 14th century church and also its annual music festival the Déodat de Séverac which takes place in July
• Revel (22 km) - well known for its carpentry. Others tours are possible.
• Mourvilles-Hautes - there are many possible walks, from visiting the small villages, learning about local history to the traditions of the 'Montagne Noire' (Black Mountain), the vineyards of Aude or discovering the Pyrenees Mountains.
