This charming longere farmhouse, built circa 1890, has its own swimming pool and is an ideal base for your chambre d’hote (bed & breakfast), or gite holiday in the Loir and Loire Valleys.

Food:

All chambre d’hote prices are per night and are inclusive of continental breakfast, English breakfast is also available on request.

Evening meals (table d’hote) are on offer to all our guests. Menus are changed daily and reflect regional specialities, as well as English and French favourites. Where meals are booked sufficiently in advance the menu will be agreed with you. Please see website for current menu and price.

Three large double bedrooms accommodating 2/3 people all with private facilities. Each bed room has been carefully renovated and decorated to preserve the character of the farmhouse; helping to ensure your stay is a pleasant and comfortable experience.

La Picardiere operates a non- smoking policy within the house.

About the location

Set in the heart of the Loir Valley on the outskirts of the village of Jupilles,15 minutes from the main A28 autoroute, 10 minutes from Chateau du Loir, 25 minutes from Le Mans and 40 minutes from Tours.

Chateaux and Castles:

 

A stay in the Loir Valley is always an intense experience. It is home to many charming castles and chateaux which recount the history of the area. Wine fairs, musical evenings, gourmet days and gardening weekends are amongst the many and varied festivals which take place throughout the year at number of the chateaux. Some of the closest are Le Lude, Amboise, Villandry, Langeais, Azay-le-Rideau and Chateau d’Usse.

 

 

Wine Production:

 

Over a thousand years ago vineyards were established in the area taking advantage of the favourable climate. Many superb wines are now produced here and local vineyards offer tours and tasting to the public.

How to get here

By Car:

Jupilles is situated off the N138 between Tours and Le Mans approximately 20 kilometres north of the popular market town of Chateau du Loir. There are excellent road links via N138 or paege A 28, and is an ideal overnight stop if your journey is taking you to the south of France. Crossing the channel from Dover to Calais with your car can be made by Eurotunnel or by ferry.

 

Ferry services also operate from Portsmouth to Le Havre or Caen.

By Train:

From Waterloo or Ashford International via Paris or Lille and then onward to Tours or Le Mans, this journey will take approximately 4 hours. Car hire is readily available at Le Mans or Tours stations.

By Air:

Ryanair fly daily to Tours and often have excellent offers if booked in advance. Hertz car rentals offer Ryanair customers special rates when hiring vehicles.
