Le Rossignol has a wonderful location at the foot of the Gorges d’Heric in the Haut Languedoc Regional Natural Park. Just 6 minutes walk to the pretty small village of Mons La Trivalle where you will find an auberge café-bar, restaurant, baker's, butcher's, grocer's, tabac, wine tasting cave, pizza take-away,  bike hire (in summer), post office and small tourist information office.

The villa is a 500 metre stroll to the Gorges d’Heric, where you can enjoy swimming in the fresh-water rock pools, rock-climbing and hill-walking.

The area is a haven for walkers and nature-lovers, and ideal for a truly peaceful holiday with beautiful views and fantastic Mediterranean climate but with plenty of activities on offer locally for more active families.

And you really can hear nightingales singing!

The villa is private and spacious, with lovely views of the beautiful countryside. The accommodation is laid out mostly over one level with the large open-plan living/dining room and delightful master bedroom overlooking the garden and pool area with access out via patio doors. The large covered terrace and separate deck area are both ideal spots for taking in the stunning views whilst enjoying a glass of the local wine.

• Living/Dining room -  TV, video player, DVD player, CD radio cassette player, UK satellite TV and radio channels. Attractive views of the countryside and patio doors to covered terrace and pool area. Selection of books, CDs, videos, DVDs and board games. 
• Kitchen - dishwasher, integrated stainless steel electric oven, halogen hob, microwave.
• Utility room – equipped with large fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
• Master bedroom – spacious room with kingsize bed. En-suite shower room with wash basin and wc. Patio doors to garden and pool. Stairs to mezzanine level room with 2 single beds. Babygate at top of mezzanine stairs. Fans in both bedrooms.
• Bedroom 2 – double bedroom with window over back garden and views of vineyards. Standard fan.
• Bedroom 3  - two single beds and access to a small children’s play area with a stage and beanbags. Standard fan. Access to this bedroom is via a spiral-type staircase that some parents may find unsuitable for small children.
• A travel cot and highchair are available at no extra charge on request.
• Bathroom - modern family bathroom - bath with shower, wash basin, wc.

Exterior

The enclosed south-facing Mediterranean garden has plenty of mature pretty planting typical of the area. There are two outside dining areas - a covered terrace with dining table, chairs and parasol, and a decked area with wooden dining table and chairs and boules pitch. The large private swimming pool (10m x 5m) has pretty views of the Gorges d'Heric. A barbecue, sun loungers and boules are provided for your use. Private off-road parking for several cars.

About the location

The Gorges d’Heric immediately behind the villa are spectacular, in a natural deep river valley with amazing scenery and superb fresh water pools, ideal for paddling and swimming away from the crowded coastline in the heat of summer. The villa is in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park and offers wonderful walking, hiking, cycling, sight-seeing and nature/bird watching opportunities

Superb wine-tasting is all around – this is the largest wine-producing area in the world, and the region is carpeted with vineyards. The most famous locally, St Chinian, is just 20 minutes from Le Rossignol. St Chinian also hosts a very good large traditional market on Sunday mornings.

The Mediterranean coastline is 50 minutes away, with child-friendly sandy beaches. All water sports are catered for.

• By plane - the approximate driving time from the following airports to Le Rossignol is: Beziers (45 mins), Carcassonne (2 hrs), Montpellier (1.5 hrs), Nimes (2 hrs), Perpignan (1.5 hrs), Toulouse (2hrs), Girona, Spain (3 hrs).We provide you with detailed directions of how to reach us from the airport on confirmation of your booking.

• By rail - There are direct TGV fast trains from Paris and Paris CDG airport to Beziers that take under 5 hours. At Beziers take the Millau train to Bedarieux from where it is a 20 minute drive to Le Rossignol. There is a taxi rank at Bedarieux station.
