This charming 14th century village house was built in the ramparts originally protecting the heart of the mediaeval hill-top village of Aigremont. It has recently been beautifully renovated and offers, throughout the summer and school holidays, modern, comfortable and resful self-catering accommodation for up to 8 people.

Between September and June 'La Maison Papillon' offers a delightful bed and breakfast. At either time the guests have exclusive use of the pool facilities. The village of Aigremont is ideally situated to satisfy all tastes and interests. Many of the surrounding villages have typical weekly street markets, notably in Uzès, probably the most famous markets in Provence and the charming market in the medieval town of Sommières.

are plenty of good restaurants where to enjoy delicious meals out. Olive oil and wine merchants selling direct from the producer… For lovers of history, there is the famous Pont du Gard, the Roman amphitheatres in Nîmes and Arles, not to mention the 16th Century town of Uzès, Avignon and the multitude of Roman and Gallo-Roman oppidums and other remains.

Ground floor:

• Entrance - vast area with glass doors
• Bedroom one - with double bed and ensuite bathroom (wc., wash basin and shower). There is independent access to the garden
• Bedroom Two - with single bed
• Laundry room - fully equipped with sink, washing machine, iron and ironing board

First floor :

• Kitchen/dining room - lovely, large open fully equipped kitchen and dining area with a big stone fire-place. Here are some of the kitchen facilities - refrigerator/freezer; cooker/oven;  dishwasher; kettle and a breadmaker.
• Living room - with huge stone fire-place, TV., DVD., Hi-Fi.

Third floor :

• Bedroom Three - spacious master double bedroom with dressing room
• Bedroom Four -  with double bed
• Bedroom Five - with single bed (very small room)
• Bathroom - with wc

Garden :

• Lovely, totally secluded garden with trees and flowers.
• Swimming pool with alarm system (4mx4m).
• Large covered terrace with wooden table and 8 chairs ideal for outside meals.
• Barbecue

About the location

Just minutes from the famous mediaeval Duchy town of Uzès, Anduze, or Nîmes, 40 minutes to Montpellier, Avignon or Arles. Less than an hour from the beach, the Camargue and 15 minutes to the Cevennes mountains.

How to get here

• International flights come to Nîmes, Avignon, Montpellier and Marseille.
• The TVG (high speed train) comes to Nîmes and Montpellier. There is a direct train to Avignon from Waterloo every Saturday.
• The motorway links to the region are excellent and with the new opening of the bridge at Millau, travel time has been reduced by 2/3 hours.
