Les Amandiers is a detached villa with a large illuminated salt-water pool, 350 metres from the attractive village of Lacapelle Biron in the Lot-et-Garonne. This newly built well-appointed property stands in grounds of 1 ½ acres just 30 minutes from both the Dordogne and Lot Rivers. It has open views and is on a quiet lane close to a village which is well served with amenities including a bar restaurant, a butcher, a Post Office, a bakery, a pharmacy, two grocery shops, a Syndicat d'Initiative, library, a small garage and a Doctors surgery. Labelled by the locals "un village vrai" (a real village), Lacapelle Biron is surrounded by delightful countryside and quiet lanes.

Holiday Accommodation at Les Amandiers

Tiled floors throughout and predominately white walls give a cool airy spacious feel to the living accommodation. Modern electric central heating (including an automatic ventilation system) a fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons and three shower/ bathrooms for 3 bedrooms (1 en suite) will enhance your stay whatever the time of year.

• Kitchen is fully fitted with all electrical appliances, AEG oven with hood, Bosch dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, ample cupboard space and work surfaces, electric kettle and microwave. Attractive double doors lead to the lounge diner.
• Lounge/diner over 40 square metres with three sets of double doors leading out onto the terrace. The room is comfortably furnished with ample seating, tables, BBC TV, DVD and video, CD radio cassette and a selection of books and games.
• Main bedroom leads from the living room and has a king size double bed and double doors leading to a separate morning terrace. It has an en suite shower room with chrome fittings, an illuminated mirror, heated towel rail and modern white sanitary ware.
• Main bathroom has a bath with shower over, bidet, toilet, heated towel rail and illuminated mirror.
• Bedrooms 2 and 3 are twin bedded with bedside lights and ample storage.

Outside

From the terrace a path leads to the newly built salt water pool 11 ½ metres x 5 ½ metres with roman steps. It has been positioned to take full advantage of all day sun and the views and is fenced. It has an outdoor shower and is surrounded by a tiled seating area of over 100 square metres and has a generous supply of sun loungers and out door tables and chairs. The lightly salted water is far kinder to the skin and eyes than in conventional pools and has even been described as 'silken'!

The extra large pool house contains equipment including four bicycles for your use and controls the underwater pool lighting - ideal if you fancy a night time dip. Its roof extends to provide a shelter from the sun when required.

There is a newly constructed outside barbecue.

Les Amandiers is perfectly placed to see the best of the Dordogne and Lot regions with various castles, pre-historic sites and mediaeval towns all within an hour's drive. The chateaux of Biron, Bonaguil, Beynac, Les Milandes, Monbazillac and others are not far away and all worth a visit.

Wonderful local markets show off the products of the region's agriculture and include the local delicacies of cepe mushrooms, walnut oil, truffles and foie gras. A huge network of paths winds through the local woods around Lacapelle Biron which is also at the crossing point of two Grandes Randonnees (way marked walks) which you can explore on foot, horseback or bike.

This is an excellent gastronomic region with not just the food markets but also local restaurants and local producers making their products readily available.

By air - Bergerac airport is just 40 minutes away - flights go there from Stansted, Nottingham-East Midlands Bristol (Ryanair) Birmingham Exeter Southampton Gatwick or Leeds (Flybe) or flights to Toulouse or Bordeaux - which is 1 hour 45 minutes from Lacapelle Biron- from Bristol, Birmingham Heathrow and Birmingham.  Car hire available on arrival

By road - 7-10 hours from channel ports
