The cottages form part of the original Regis farmhouse situated in Le Laussou, 4 km north of Monflanquin, one of the loveliest medieval hilltop Bastide towns in France, with full facilities for shopping and a local market every Thursday morning and several others for regional products during the summer.  

The Dairy has three bedrooms and La Fromagerie has one bedroom, plus there is an independent en-suite bedroom to let with either cottage.

Swimming Pool

A short walk from the cottages, over the garden (exclusively for the use of our visitors for ball games and other leisure activities) and next to the owners house, is the beautiful pool, which is for the exclusive use of guests and is always maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.  

It is a 12m x 6m x 2½m max pool, with Roman steps at the shallow end, and is surrounded by a lovely paved and terraced area, equipped with pool loungers, complete with mattresses, tables and parasols and a selection of inflatables. The pool and its surrounding terrace can be floodlit at night extending its use into the cool of the evening. In accordance with French safety laws the pool is equipped with an alarm system.

The shallow end is only up to waist level, after which it deepens to the far end, where diving is possible. On the side of the pool we place two flower pots, indicating the place which the pool starts to deepen. However, around all sides of the pool is a sloping shelf, so nobody need ever be totally out of their depth. 

The pool area has a fantastic view over the valley to Monflanquin and offers guests a very substantial and pretty area in which to enjoy the pool and sunbathing. The owners only cater for a maximum of 10 people so the poolside area is never overcrowded.

Accommodation detail

The Dairy has three bedrooms, one with a double bed and two with twin beds and all have fitted wardrobes, bedside tables, mirrors, good lighting and available plugs and a hairdryer in the double bedroom.  There are tiled floors, large windows and curtains and it is decorated and equipped to a very high standard.  The bedrooms are carpeted and have electric cooling fans

Ground floor

• Living / dining room - a large, beamed room with two settees and three armchairs, wood-burning fire, separate occasional tables and chairs and a very large well-stocked bookcase, French television and video player, a radio/tape/CD player and indoor games. At the far end is a large dining table and 6 dining chairs.
• Kitchen - a very pretty room with sink, 4-burner gas hob with extractor hood, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker and large fridge/freezer, very well equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, glasses and a large selection of pans.  
• Shower room - is walk-in with a further door into an area with a basin, vanity unit with large mirror, lighting, a shaver socket and a second WC.

From the living room, just through the main front door, there is the staircase, which is divided into two – up the first five steps; there is a half-landing. Turn right there and you reach:

• Twin bedroom - which is fitted with wardrobe, dressing table, bedside table and light.  

Turn left on the half landing and you ascend to:

• Twin bedroom
• Double bedroom
• Bathroom - with tiled walls, bath, overhead shower, basin, WC and a shaver socket. The WC’s are equipped with automatic extractor fans.

An ironing board and iron are included as is a cylinder cleaner and all cleaning equipment.

Outside

The covered terrace is equipped with table and chairs for 8 people and a barbecue.   This has extensive views over to Chateau Biron and gives a welcome and cool retreat after the heat of the day.  

The Fromagerie terrace, with equally pretty views of Chateau Biron is equipped with table and chairs for 4 people and with a barbecue.

There is ample parking for all our visitors on site.

There is an outside drying line and within the Dairy and Fromagerie are freestanding drying racks, plus pegs.

About the location

Within a very easy drive, you will find many historic towns such as Villereal, Issigeac and Monpazier, trapped in a time warp of history and looking very like they must have done hundreds of years ago.  There are numerous places of interest to visit, too many to list here, but within the cottages you will find folders of places to visit and local restaurants and our local Tourist Office will supply any further information you may require.
