Home description

Situated on the edge of the small village of Mohon in tranquil countryside this comfortable centrally heated bungalow with 3 double bedrooms is designed to accommodate 6-8 (bed settee in lounge). Only a gentle stroll in to the centre of the small village which has a small bar tabac, boulangerie and minimart.

The house is situated in very quiet, rural surrounding within easy reach of the ports of St. Malo (80 kms 50 mls being the nearest), Caen and Cherbourg. The nearest town is Josselin (11km) with Ploermel at 16 km. The ancient city of Becheral (worthy of a visit) is some 25-30kms away with the small picturesque village of Lizio slightly nearer.

The Private Pool is Solar Heated and is open during July and  August for the sole use of vistors to the house.  A coarse fishing lake near to the property is well stocked and available for private use and is and is subject to a separate charge. There are other lakes in the vicinity and the area around Mohon is picturesque and peaceful suitable for walks. A local Table d’Hote also is an equestrian centre.

For the true flavour of France and complete relaxation and tranquility, guests need to look no further. French bread, a glass of wine as you relax on the patio, a dip in the pool - this is what La Belle Maison is about.

The accommodation is all on the Ground Floor and comprises:

• Kitchen/diner - well fitted with range style cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and wood burning stove
• Lounge - large, comfortably furnished room with bed settee, TV, DVD, VCR and Hi-Fi
• Three bedrooms - all large, one with double bed the remainder with twin single beds
• Shower room - with toilet
• Utility room/drying area - with automatic washing machine and dryer.

Outside:

Guests have their own area of patio together with barbecue and garden with children's swings and play area.

The solar heated outdoor swimming pool, which is 9m x 6m x 1.25m (31ft x 20ft x 4 ft) is available for clients' use July to September and is complete with patio, tables, chairs and sun loungers. In conformity with the latest EU legislation, security fencing together with the locking, self closing gate has been erected. Guests will be supplied with their own keys.

About the location

It only takes a gentle stroll to the centre of the small village of Mohon which has a small bar Tabac, a small supermarket, library, craft store and a boulangerie.

Although the property is situated in very quiet, rural surrounding it is within easy reach of the ports of St. Malo (80 kms 50 mls being the nearest), Caen, Roscoff and Cherbourg. The nearest town is Josselin (11km). The ancient city of Becheral (worthy of a visit) is some 25-30kms away.

If you are feeling more adventurous, the bungalow is just 30 km from Rennes, the capital of Brittany with its fine shops, a magnificent Saturday market, and its architecture, museums and riverside cafés. Do not miss also ancient Vitré with its castle and medieval, cobbled streets and shops.

The famous Mont St. Michel is less than two hours drive and even closer is St. Malo (1.5 hours), with its wonderful walled town and gorgeous beaches and Cancale, renowned for its oysters and sea food.

The famous 7 km beach at La Baule together with its casinos and St. Tropez type atmosphere is accessible within 2 hours as are the beautiful beaches and scenery on the Morbihan coast.

Closer to the property, for those who enjoy nature walks or fishing, the lake at Marcille Robert (3km) has a 7km nature trail. During the summer holidays, all of the towns and villages have local fetes and spectaculars, the most famous of these being 'Etincelles Aquatique', an evening spectacle with fireworks, usually held around mid-August at Martigné Ferchaud (10 km). There are plenty of good, low cost restaurants in the local towns as well as bars and pavement cafés.

Angers, gateway to the Loire, is less than 2 hours drive and some of our wine-loving guests have been known to have taken two days on this trip, having ventured into vine growing areas and taken more 'degustation' than driving laws allow!

With its location, spacious centrally heated comfort, its fishing and its tranquility, the cottage has something to offer at any time of the year.
