La Roseraie is an elegant 'Town & Country' Bed & Breakfast property with two beautifully appointed, fully equipped gites (recommended by Alastair Sawdays Special Places to Stay and by Michelin). This special property is set in its own extensive grounds of 4 acres, including a heated swimming pool, private barbecues (gites), private parking for cars & for motorbikes. The lovely gardens lead to our private parkland of fruit trees and a small wood - all just two minutes' walk to the village square.
All bedrooms are light-filled, beautifully decorated and en-suite. Careful attention to detail has resulted in elegant, light-filled rooms and your comfort, along with a warm welcome, is assured.
For your added comfort, there are complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in the guest sitting room of the chambres d'hotes.
Our two popular self-catering gites, each has two en-suite bedrooms; a newly installed fully equipped kitchen, fabulous living rooms and a private garden terrace with barbecue.
The swimming pool is heated and the pool area is equipped with loungers for sunbathers, a solar-heated shower and at night, subtle lighting adds to the magic of the evening. The water is salt-treated, avoiding the use of chlorine chemicals.
Our renowned table d'hote evening meals are availabel to all our guests, and consists of:
On warm nights, supper is usually served in the garden, under the pergola, to the unobtrusive background of blissful classical music. In the winter, we use the chandelier-lit dining room, with high ceilings and a crackling wood fire.
In addition, there is a bistro-style leisure room, equipped with an honesty bar, tv and dvd player, a library with a selection of DVDs and books and cards and board games. Informal 'Get-together' buffet suppers are regularly held in the Bistro as well.
Whilst we do not usually provide lunch (picnics/buffet-style lunches can be ordered at breakfast time), there are several excellent restaurants in the village (walking distance) or in Poitiers and nearby villages (driving distance) which we can recommend, from the simple-but-hearty fare at the working men’s stamping ground (excellent value and good ambiance) to the sophisticated, and those in-between.
For the convenience of all our guests, we are within walking distance of shops including pharmacies, bakeries, bars and a stationers; 10 minutes' drive from the A10 autoroute, 15 minutes from Poitiers airport, 20 minutes from Poitiers Train Station and just 10 minutes from the famous Futuroscope media theme park.
Rooms are situated in the original, converted Orangerie Wing which overlooks the front garden
* All rooms are en suite with sparkling shower rooms *
Our popular 'Tables d’hotes' menu is available in the evenings
All our light-filled double rooms have a double bed, are en-suite and elegantly decorated, with views to the gardens. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in the guest sitting room.
From the tranquility of our secluded gardens and parkland, it is just a two minute walk to the square of the thriving little village of Neuville-de-Poitou.
Here, one of the best markets in Vienne is held every Sunday morning. Village shops include patisseries, butchers, delicatessens, a news agent, pharmacies, banks and restaurants, including 'St. Fortuna', renowned for its excellent cuisine and 'La Table de Bellefois' - an atmospheric restaurant within our local micro-brewery.
The 'Haut Cave' in Neuville is the centre for the excellent locally-produced wines and the friendly staff is happy to arrange for tastings.
