Elegant Bed&Breakfast & self-catering Gites with Pool in Private Parkland
La Roseraie is an elegant 'Town & Country' Bed & Breakfast property with two beautifully appointed, fully equipped gites (recommended by Alastair Sawdays Special Places to Stay and by Michelin). This special property is set in its own extensive grounds of 4 acres, including a heated swimming pool, private barbecues (gites), private parking for cars & for motorbikes. The lovely gardens lead to our private parkland of fruit trees and a small wood - all just a stroll to the village square.
All bedrooms are light-filled, beautifully decorated and en-suite. Careful attention to detail has resulted in elegant, light-filled rooms and your comfort, along with a warm welcome, is assured.
For your added comfort, there are complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in the guest sitting room of the chambres d'hotes (bed & breakfast wing).
Our two popular self-catering gites, each have two en-suite bedrooms; a newly installed fully equipped kitchen, fabulous living rooms and a private garden terrace with barbecue.
The swimming pool is heated and the pool area is equipped with loungers for sunbathers, a solar-heated shower and at night, subtle lighting adds to the magic of the evening. The water is salt-treated, avoiding the use of chlorine chemicals.
Dining
Our renowned table d'hote evening meals are availabel to all our guests, and consists of:
- Entree
- Plat de jour (dish of the day)
- Cheese board
- Desert
- Wine (adults)
On warm nights, supper is usually served in the garden, under the pergola, to the unobtrusive background of blissful classical music. In the winter, we use the chandelier-lit dining room, with high ceilings and a crackling wood fire.
In addition, there is a bistro-style leisure room, equipped with an honesty bar, tv and dvd player, a library with a selection of DVDs and books and cards and board games. Informal 'Get-together' buffet suppers are regularly held in the Bistro as well.
Whilst we do not usually provide lunch (picnics/buffet-style lunches can be ordered at breakfast time), there are several excellent restaurants in the village (walking distance) or in Poitiers and nearby villages (driving distance) which we can recommend, from the simple-but-hearty fare at the working men’s stamping ground (excellent value and good ambiance) to the sophisticated, and those in-between. Notably, the restaurant "le St Fortunat" has been awarded a Michelin Star.
For the convenience of all our guests, we are within walking distance of shops including pharmacies, bakeries, bars and a stationers; 10 minutes' drive from the A10 autoroute, 15 minutes from Poitiers airport, 20 minutes from Poitiers Train Station and just 10 minutes from the famous Futuroscope media theme park.
La Roseraie Chambres d'Hotes:
Rooms are situated in the original, converted Orangerie Wing which overlooks the front garden
- Family Suites (2 inter-connecting rooms, sleeps 5)

- Double Rooms
* All rooms are en suite with gorgeous walk-in showers *
