Home description

The Domaine de Saint Baudile is an old country domaine of the 16th Century surrounded by vineyard. The Château was built in 1850 in the famous region of the Languedoc Rousillon, Hérault, producing a very popular wine. The property is about 2 kms away from the mediterranean sea. The private beach is 7 kilometers long which can be accessed by bicycle.

The swimming pool is separated from the garden by an old iron banister for the security of the children with also an electric alarm. The garden is lite in the evening. The little pool house is painted in yellow and blue.

In the garden, there is a great barbecue made in old stone to cook fish and meats that you can find at the local market of Villeneuve (2 kms), Lattes (5 kms).

There is also a supermarket at one kilometer from the town. In the town, you will find bakeries, groceries, a post office, doctors.

Sleeps 17-20

All the furniture at Château Maigret is noble and antique from the 18th and 16th Centuries.
The walls are painted in the same method than in the 19th Century: 'plâtre ciré'. All the 9 bedrooms are painted in a different colour: purple, pink, blue, lavender, yellow... There is a billiard-table for you to enjoy a game in the evening.

Château Maigret comprises:

• Two Kitchens - each with a diswasher, fridge-freezers, washing machines, cooker, microwave, iron, coffee maker
• Two Dining rooms - with a spectacular wooden fireplaces
• Two Sitting rooms - each with wooden floors and a fireplace. One fireplace has wood fire surround and one with marble fire surround. There is satellite TV, telephone for free local calls or emergency calls only, a CD player, Hi-Fi., and an old  piano in wood
• 9 Double Bedrooms - all the bed-spreads are made from 'Souleïado' or 'Indiennes de Nîmes' fabrics. There is an old golden mirror and fireplace in each bedroom
• 3 bathrooms - with bath and shower over the bath
• Four Separate WCs

About the location

Near the Château Maigret you will find the great city of Montpellier:  16th century 'faculté de médecine', cathedrals, castles, the small Camargue to visit.

Gastronomie:

Enjoy a nice meal at 'Le St Clair' restaurant  or 'Le Jardin des Sens' with a glass of wine such as Fougères, St Chinan or Picpoul, very popular in our region.
