Château Les Roches offers the experience of staying in a private country residence where we have just six guest bedrooms. Les Roches is located in a hilltop medieval village (Mont-Saint-Jean) with unobstructed views of the countryside. The setting of Les Roches is picturesque and tranquil where one can unwind and feel completely relaxed.

Les Roches is situated in the heart of Burgundy (Côte d’Or) and is within an easy reach of the famous Burgundy wine areas (including Chablis, Côte-de-Beaune, Côte-de-Chalonnais and Côte-de-Nuits), historical sites and popular places of interest.

The spacious bedrooms, each with private en-suites, were completely renovated in 2005 and are decorated with both antique and contemporary furnishings.

Our guests can enjoy our favourite Burgundy wines from the Les Roches wine cellar in the salon, library, terrace or any of the seating areas in the Les Roches park.

We offer home-cooked dinners twice per week (Thursdays and Saturdays) using regional and seasonal ingredients and we recommend matching Burgundy wines for each meal. The dinner experience begins with an aperitif in the salon, four-course meal in the dining room or terrace and ends with a coffee or tea in the library.

We are pleased to offer complimentary wifi and internet access.

Accommodation detail

Breakfast

The breakfast includes a choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, selection of breads, croissants, choice of jams, yoghurts, selection of juices and choice of cereals. The breakfast is served in the dining room or terrace (or can be arranged to be served in the bedroom or private balcony).

Dinners

We offer four-course dinners starting with an aperitif in the salon followed by a starter and a main course composed of local ingredients, regional cheeses and homemade desserts and Burgundy wines (29 euros per person). The dinners are served either in the dining room or the terrace (during summer) and is available Thursday and Saturday evenings.

On the other evenings (Sundays through Wednesdays and Fridays), we offer a cold cut dinner for 15 euros per person (selection of cold cuts, cheeses, salad and breads).

We offer the following additional services:

• Selection of our favourite Burgundy wines (why not enjoy some wine in the salon, library or terrace)
• Packed lunch (available upon request)
• Bicycle rentals (rent our bicycles for 15 euros per day)
• Rent one of our TomTom navigation systems pre-programmed with most popular points of interest

 

About the location

Chateau Les Roches is situated in the heart of Cote d’Or, Burgundy. It is perfectly placed to explore the Burgundy region including the Morvan National Park and is easily accessible to the famous Burgundy wine regions, historical towns and popular areas of interest.

How to get here

By Car

The property is about 20 minutes away from the A6, which is the main motorway between Paris and Lyon.

• From Paris (in direction towards Lyon):
  From the A6, take exit 23 and head toward Precy-sous-Thil. Drive through Precy-sous-Thil and and head towards Pouilly-en-Auxois / Missery (this will be the D36). After about 10 minutes, you will see signs for Mont-Saint-Jean going left. Once you enter Mont-Saint-Jean (small village), turn right once you get to a restaurant called 'Le Medieval'. Les Roches will shortly be on your left (behind a large gate).
• From Lyon (in direction towards Paris):
  From the A6, take the exit for Pouilly-en-Auxois. Drive through Pouilly-en-Auxois town centre and follow signs towards Saulieu (you should be on the D977 road). After about 10 minutes you should see signs for Mont-Saint-Jean going to the right (D36 road). After about 2 km, there will be further signs to Mont-Saint-Jean on the right going up a hill. Once you enter Mont-Saint-Jean, turn right once you get to a restaurant called 'Le Medieval'. Les Roches will shortly be on your left (behind a large gate).

By Train
The nearest TGV station (connecting Paris and Lyon in just over an hour) is in Montbard, which is about 40 minutes away from Les Roches. There are many more train connections in Dijon, which is about 50 minutes away from Les Roches.

By Train and Rental Car
We suggest that you take a train to Dijon where you can easily pick-up a rental car at the train station.

The following are the driving directions from Dijon (the journey takes about 50 minutes from Dijon to Les Roches):

• From the train station, follow signs towards Paris (usually blue signs and indicates you want to get on the A38 motorway). From the A38 motorway, exit for Pouilly-en-Auxois (exit number 24). Drive through Pouilly-en-Auxois town centre and follow signs towards Saulieu (you should be on the D977 road). After about 10 minutes you should see signs for Mont-Saint-Jean going to the right (D36 road). After about 2 km, there will be further signs to Mont-Saint-Jean on the right going up a hill. Once you enter Mont-Saint-Jean, turn right once you get to a restaurant called 'Le Medieval'. Les Roches will shortly be on your left (behind a large gate).
