Villa Laurier Rose is a well-built detatched house with 150sqm of living space set in 1800sqm of beautiful mature gardens. Inside the house the spacious rooms are well appointed and are furnished to a high standard with pictures and ornaments, rugs and lamps, to give the house a very personal and welcoming feel.

Outside there is an independent studio bedroom sleeping 2. Please note that the studio bedroom is simply an extra bedroom for parties requiring more space and is NEVER rented separately.

The vine covered terrace with barbecue is ideal for dining outdoors in the hot summer months. The large sun terrace and lawned gardens with mature shrubs, fruit and olive trees provide a perfect setting for sunbathing & relaxing in the Provencal way, whilst the private 10 by 5 metre Roman style swimming pool with solar-heated shower will allow you to cool off. For your security & peace of mind, the pool is fenced to prevent small children entering the pool unaccompanied.

Lounge/dining room  – A spacious double height 45sqm living area with comfy sofas, large open fireplace, UK satellite TV and DVD player. Portable CD player. Kitchen – a well-equipped kitchen with oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, American fridge freezer with ice-maker, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. There is also a small breakfast table with seating for four people

About the location

St.Quentin la Poterie is a popular and lively village. Dating from medieval times and built in local stone, the village has several good restaurants and bars, small shops including bakers & butchers, wine producers, a pharmacy, supermarket and post office. There is a weekly provencal market on Fridays. As the name suggests, St.Quentin is famous for its pottery and the museum and tourist information centre can provide a leaflet detailing a walking circuit of 14 local potters. There is a pottery fair every summer with a larger pottery festival every two years in mid-July ("even" years). The annual village fete is in August.

Medieval Uzès (5km) is one of Frances hidden gems. The town has a fascinating history and is characterised by well-preserved, elegant town houses built in local limestone. Wander through the car-free narrow winding streets and squares, and enjoy a drink or an excellent meal in one of Uzès many open-air bars and restaurants. Uzès offers an excellent range of shops and each Saturday the town is filled by one of the best Provençal markets in the area. Speciality markets, fairs and other events are held throughout the year including Music Festival (July), Fete Votive (August), Wine Fair (August), Truffle Fair (January). Whenever you visit, there is always plenty to do.

Places to visit close by: the famous Roman Pont du Gard, Gorges of the Ardeche, the papal town of Avignon, the towns of Nimes and Arles with their impressive array of Roman remains and two arenas which are still used today for concerts and bullfights. For the children there is also the toy museum, the sweet factory and the train museum in and around Uzes. 

A little further afield you will find: sandy beaches in the Camargue, the beautifully preserved walled town of Aigues Mortes, the bustling towns of Montpellier, Marseille and Orange, the Cevennes with its wild mountainous country, the famous hilltop villages in the Luberon.

Don’t forget to stop and sample the many different types of wine in the region. To the immediate north is Cote du Rhone country. Chateauneuf du Papes, Tavel Laudin and Liberon vineyards are close by and the local Langdouc wines are very good (vins du Pont du Gard, vin du Pays d’Uzes).

Airports: Nimes – 30kms (40 mins by car); Montpellier – 75kms (60mins by car); Marseilles – 160km (90mins by car).

Road: Motorway A9 ( to remoulins exit 23), then 19kms on easy local roads.

Rail: TGV to Avignon or Nimes, then local bus to Uzès or car hire (both available from train stations).
