Set in the beautiful Western Loire, Le Moulin Chere is a delightful 18th Century converted watermill with four comfortable double bedrooms en-suite. TV and DVD available on request. We are situated in a lovely rural retreat surrounded by 4 hectares of mature woodland where the river Chere flows gently under the mill meandering its way pas the peaceful fields of corn and sunflowers, touching the banks of the gentle countryside.

The garden has endless places to relax and hide taking in the mid-day sun in a quiet shady corner or by the river.

About the location

The small town of Grand Fougeray is a short drive or bicycle ride away where you will find restaurants, a pharmacie, bank, maison de la presse, coiffeurs, supermarket and some superb boulangeries and pâtisseries.

A short drive away are the small towns of Pierric, Châteaubriant and Bain-de-Bretagne where you will find most amenities including swimming pools and horse riding and the Château at Balin is definitely worth a visit. A longer drive will take you to the ancient walled city of Guérande and it's salt marshes used for our delicious Brittany butter or chic la Baulle and St Brevin and its three miles of golden sands where you will find award winning atlantic beaches. The lovely French towns of Rennes (capital de Brittany), Angers, which houses the largest tapestry in the world and the only Cointreau factory! Laval and Nantes (gateway to Muscaded country) and St Nazaire to name but a few are within an hour drive.

How to get here

The ferry port of St Malo and Dinan airport is one hour's drive through some of the most beautiful parts of Brittany on route to the Western Loire and just under 45 minutes you have the airports of Nantes and Rennes and the 'la Gare TGV'. You will find us situated between Rennes and Nantes approximately 6kms from the N137, take the exit for Grand Fougeray.
