Southern Comfort - Modern Villa Close to the Beach

Our 4 bedroom detached villa stands in its own garden of about half an acre . The villa sleeps up to 8 people, is finished to a high standard and is situated on the outskirts of the small town of St. Andre, 6 km from the clean beaches at Argeles sur mer.

The area is surrounded by beautiful scenery in all directions and has the benefit of the sea on the doorstep and also the Alberes hills and Pyrenees mountains nearby for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. 6km away is the lively seaside town of Argeles sur mer, which caters for all tastes, including bars, shops, entertainment and an evening craft market.

Holiday Accommodation at The Villa

The villa is comfortably furnished and consists of:

Ground Floor

Tiled terrace at the rear of the house leading into:

  • Living room - cool and spacious, with 2 French doors overlooking the garden. It is furnished with 2 leather sofas, DVD player, CD player, dining table and chairs. The lights come with ceiling fans to ensure the room does not get too hot. in summer and has a wood burning stove for the chilly winter evenings. The satellite TV can receive English free view programmes.
  • Kitchen - Light wood kitchen is well supplied with fitted units, electric cooker, gas hob, sink, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster and microwave. There is a plentiful supply of crocery and cutlery.
  • Bedroom 1 - large room with king size bed, fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers and ceiling fan.
  • Shower room - with WC.
  • Garage - including washing machine.

First Floor

Upstairs from the hallway to:

  • Bedroom 2 - large room, with double bed, fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers and ceiling fan.
  • Bedroom 3 - large room, with twin beds, fitted wardrobes with internal shelves and ceiling fan.
  • Bedroom 4 - large room, with twin beds, fitted wardrobes with internal shelves and ceiling fan.
  • Bathroom - with shower over the bath, vanity unit and shaver point.

All windows are provided with shutters and all rooms have electric radiators.

Outside

The large gardens are newly planted and provide ample space for parking several cars at the front of the villa. The rear garden consists of a sunny flat area by the terrace to enjoy the sun, with steps leading down to 3 shady terraces and a meadow and small stream at the bottom of the garden. Children can find a swing and rope ladder on the terraces. The rear garden has beautiful views across the vineyards and has a gas barbecue.

A new 8m wood enclosed above ground pool is situated to the side of the villa (high season only). This is surrounded by decking to enable you to sunbathe or just relax by the pool. There are both shady and sunny areas throughout the day. A paddling pool is available for children.

About St Andre in Pyrénées-Orientales, Languedoc Roussillon

The town of St Andre is about 15 minutes from Perpignan town centre. The town has a super market, bar, tabac, restaurant and boulangerie with cakes that make your mouth water just looking at them. The town of Sorede with its popular restaurants and the Valley of the Tortoises is just along the road. The local wine cellars are pleased to let you sample their wines before you buy.

A short drive away is the town of Argeles sur mer with its clean sandy beaches and activities for all throughout the summer and also the picturesque port town of Colliure with the display by the eagles of Valmy at the nearby chateau.

Perpignan, a pretty university town is both historic yet in places modern shopping areas are springing up is just 15 minutes drive away, with the swimming lake and man made sandy beach of Villeneuve de la Raho on the outskirts. More swimming and fishing lakes can be found at the town of St Jean Pla de Corts, also about 15 minutes drive away. Not just a relaxing day by spotlessly clean swimming lake and cafe but also ariel walks on wires through the trees, zip lines across the lakes and trampolining.

Spain is less than 25 kms away giving easy access to the beaches of the Costa Brava and Barcelona with its vibrant nightlife and the Gaudi park and cathedral.

Skiing and snowboarding resorts not to mention walking areas are found at Font Romeu and Les Angles.

There are far too many places of interest to list and a selection of leaflets and booklets are left in the house for guests to enjoy the area fully.

How To Get To St Andre in Pyrénées-Orientales, South of France and the Riviera

St Andre is 30 minutes from Perpignan airport, which is serviced by Ryanair and Fly Be. With a greater choice of flights flight times, Gerona may be a preferable flight destination, which is still only 60 minutes drive away.

Car rental at airports can be booked on line or at the airport in person. Driving from Calais or Boulogne is approximately 13 hours. The N9 motorway to Le Boulou is just 10 minutes away from the villa. Full details of how to get to the villa will be provided with your booking.

Additional price information

Changeover day is Saturday with house to be vacated by 10am. You are welcome to arrive after 4pm.

Electricity is included in the price from May to September. For the rest of the year electricity charges will be charged according to the meter reading.

Christmas/New Year : £400 00 per week

Payment can be in pounds sterling or euros.

A deposit of one weeks rent is required to book the villa. Any payment for additional weeks and a  £400 security deposit irequired 6 weeks before departure. The security deposit will be returned within 7 days following your holiday if the villa is left in good order with no damages.
