Private Gite with Pool

Set in private grounds, just outside the village of Saussignac, the gîte enjoys spectacular views over the local wine growing area and is situated in the heart of a local wine growing area. The gîte is a sympathetically restored farmhouse, set in over 2 acres of private land overlooking local vinyards.

There is a private 10 x 5 metre swimming pool with surrounding sun patio which has recently been fenced in order to comply with the French safety laws . To the rear of the property, a covered terrace is ideal for outdoor evening dining and watching spectacular sunsets. Patio furniture and built-in BBQ are provided. The property provides seclusion and is ideal for peaceful family holidays, with several tourist attractions within easy reach.

Costs are per week - discounts available for bookings of 2 or more weeks.

The interior accommodation is on one level and includes:

• Kitchen/breakfast area: a well equipped kitchen with four ring hob, full sized fan oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, electric kettle, toaster, coffee filter machine and a dining table with four chairs.
• Lounge: open plan to the kitchen, the lounge area has comfortable furnishings, a large wood burning stove, television (small selection of English programmes), Video, DVD and a CD hi-fi player.
• Dining Area: large farmhouse table with eight matching chairs.
• Bathrooms 1: superb modern bathroom with bath and shower over, separate shower cubicle and his/hers hand basins.
• 2 x Separate WCs
• Bathrooms 2: superb modern bathroom with bath and shower over and his/hers hand basins.
• Double bedroom 1: this large room features a double bed and is well equipped with bedroom furniture. This room overlooks the property’s private courtyard.
• Double bedroom 2: this large room features a double bed and is well equipped with bedroom furniture.
• Twin bedroom 1: there are two single beds and again is well equipped with bedroom furniture. This room also overlooks the property’s private courtyard.
• Twin bedroom 2: there are two single beds and again is well equipped with bedroom furniture. This room also overlooks the property’s private courtyard.

The maximum occupancy for the property is 8 adults, although a baby’s cot is available in addition if required.

About Gageac Et Rouillac in Dordogne, Aquitaine

Description of the surrounding area:

The village of Saussignac, famous for its sweet white wine, is approx. one mile away and provides local facilities including a small supermarket with a dépôt de pain, and a good selection of essentials; a Post Office; the village church which stands in a pretty square; local tourist information bureaux and a "tabac".

The local district has many attractions including several nearby bastide towns, including Eymet, Duras, Lalinde and Monpazier.

The nearest major town is Bergerac, which is 8 miles to the north east and has excellent tourist attractions including many museums and a restored "old quarter".

Several local towns hold traditional French markets which are very much worth a visit. During the Summer months, some of the larger towns extend their markets to provide local produce and tourist attractions and also hold evening markets. Many of the local vinyards on the “route de vins” are more than happy to provide a tour of their facilites and tasting of the wine!

A little further afield, but within easy reach are other attractions such as Beynec, Sarlat, Rocamadour and the prehistoric caves at Les Eyzies.
