Hôtel in Provence near Cannes and St Tropez. Situated in the Massif village of  Les Adrets de l’Esterel which overlooks Cannes Bay and the Mediterranean sea.

Seven double rooms sleeping up to 28*. Continental breakfast available. This small English family run 2 star rated hotel has rightly earned it’s entry in the Michelin Guide Rouge for the spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and noticeable tranquillity overlooking the Vallon de la Verrerie, Cork, Pine and Oak protected forest of the Esterel Massif. Mont Vinaigre, at 614 meters high and just a few km to the south of the village, provides impressive views over Provencal Var, and Mediterranean azur coast. The southeast side of the village offers stunning views over the Bay of Cannes. Looking Northwards you can see the snow covered Italian Alps.

At the outset of being established over 20 years ago the Hotel acquired the coveted “deckchair” symbol in the Michelin guide – rarely given as few hotels can offer absolute tranquillity of stay so close to the Riviera. There is no obtrusive noise from passing cars, traffic or people in our secluded cul-de-sac location, yet within a few minutes you are in striking distance of all the well-known sights and sounds of the Riviera or Provence.

A 4 minute drive down the mountain takes you to junction 39 of the main Riviera coastal A8 Autoroute making it an azur breeze for day trips to numerous high profile locations. We are also ideal for business people, Sophia Antipolis, (the French Silicon Valley) and Cannes (a world leading major Conference, Exhibition and Festival location) being only a 15-minute drive away. Our sunny downstairs spacious breakfast room can be quickly cleared and used for small private functions, seminars and meetings for the discerning.

Entrance level: Restaurant

There is a spacious and refurbished restaurant where guests can indulge in a generous Continental Breakfast overlooking the magnificent garden and forest views. Huge quadruple French doors provide fine views and let in the morning sunshine whilst having breakfast. Some guests prefer to eat outside in the sun. Our local baker, Stephane provides the yummiest golden crisp croissants, pain-au-chocolat and French bread in the region - all freshly baked and brought to you every morning. Presently, we do not offer hot lunches or dinners on the premises. However, we do like to refer you to our local eateries for this and can give some excellent recommendations.

First Floor: (Reception & checking in/out Area)

All rooms on this floor have new digital, direct dial and individually allocated telephone numbers and are within our free WiFi zone. Laptop WiFi cards are available to purchase/rent. There is a free Computer/Internet/e-mail area on this floor for those who do not have their own laptop.

All rooms have a generous clothes wardrobe, electric radiators and carpeting. New white Carré Blanc linen and towels are provided. There are TV (French) & Telephone points.

A small kitchen area provides room for preparing your daily travel snack or making yourself an out of hours cup of coffee/tea. Here there is also a shared fridge for keeping those lovely French cheeses fresh. With a bottle of wine, sitting outside in the warm evenings provide the perfect chill-out.

A children’s cot is available on requested in advance.

* Please note that maximum capacity stated for each room is not the normal room capacity. The double bed rooms would be provided with extra beds or mattresses to accommodate families or groups when requested. Comfort levels would usually be reduced with extra persons sleeping in the rooms (except for family room 1).

Outside

Our Summer Sun Terrace provides a perfect place to read, drink and relax amongst the greenery of the garden and adjacent forest. It is a popular venue for having breakfast. The well-stocked mature garden boasts a variety of Mediterranean plants and bushes such as Bougainvillea, Jasmine, Grape Vines, Olives and 60 varieties of Roses. Fruiting fig, cherry, plum and apple trees are all for our guests consumption (in season). The Lavender and Rosemary trail will take you to the bottom of our perfumed garden past tall Italian conifers and Palm trees. Being on the very edge of the mountain forest peace and tranquillity are assured. Secure gated car parking. Owners’ will make available locked storage facilities for bikes, fishing and sports equipment, jet-skis etc.

Accommodation detail

(maximum 5 persons) The largest and most spacious double room available has plenty of space for additional single beds for those families wishing to stay together. The en-suite bathroom with bath, overhead shower, WC, hand washbasin and bidet and shaver point has floor and wall tiling. This room has a Westerly aspect with window and views onto Palm treed lawn and edge of the Esterel forest.

About the location

Yes you can have it all! Situated in the centre of this ancient Massif village our location is perfect hub for a superb combination holiday in the “Provence-Alpes Cote d’Azur” Region.

For glitz and glamour it is only 15 minutes down to the Cote’d’Azur. East takes you to Cannes, Nice, Monaco & Italy. Turning right and West will take you along the famous Corniche d’Or to St Tropez and beyond. However, make your way West from our village, but keeping inland and you hit the heart of old Provence for those wishing to savour lavender, honey and the Provencal way of life is steeped in art & history tradition and gastronomy. Aix en Provence, Marseille and Toulon as well as charming and spectacular panoramic views from many perched villages will keep anyone well occupied on their holiday. Rich in cultural heritage there are museums, parks, gardens, castles and historic sites to keep all of you fascinated. Monaco and Italy are excellent day trips and the Southern Alps are just a 2-hour drive for stunning winter or summer views.

Just to refresh your memory – 300 days of sunshine a year and temperatures of 28-32 degrees in high season will keep most people happy.

Airports

Nice (32 minutes, 46 km); Toulon (Hyeres) (65 minutes,110km); Marseille (90 minutes,155km)

Take the arterial coast Autoroute A8. You need to leave the A8 at Sortie/exit 39. At the exit, head in the direction of “Les Adrets”. Drive up to the top for approximately 2.5 km (4 minutes) and you will reach a small roundabout. You will see our Hotel sign there indicating to turn right. Drive for about 300 metres until you come to an infant’s school with level crossing. Immediately after this school and level crossing, turn right (Hotel direction sign again) into Chemin de l’Araignée and drive for 150 metres to the small square (Place de l’Ancienne Gendarmerie). In the right hand corner of the square is a blind turning into Chemin de la Verrerie (again a hotel sign will show above the hedge). This is a narrow windy road but you only need reach the end after about 250 metres where we are the last property on the right (signed). We have two friendly dogs so the gate will be closed. Ring the “Hotel” bell on the gate pillar and we will greet you. Just before the aforementioned roundabout at the top the sharp-eyed will see across the valley our Hollywood style “Hotel” sign erected in our garden.

Train

The TGV runs all along our coast and closest pick-up Stations would be Frejus, St Raphael, Mandelieu or Cannes. Car Hire depots are close to all of these.

Motor Rail

Let the train take the strain. Closest terminals are at Nice & Avignon, but please check routes, times and destinations with providers 'raileurope' as there will be seasonal variations.
