Centrally located in the beautiful Maine et Loire region with the major cities of Le Mans, Angers, Tours and Saumur, all within a 30 minute drive. Near by, is the busy town of Le Lude with its ancient Chateaux, weekly market and a choice of many restaurants. Whether it is exploring the wine trails, visiting the beautiful towns or just relaxing in the sun with a cool drink by the pool, La Paillasserie is an ideal base to enjoy a perfect holiday.

A Farmhouse built in the early 1800’s has many traditional features including oak beams, tiled floors and an imposing stone fireplace.

Ground Floor

• Large family fully fitted kitchen comprising of table and chairs, washing machine, fridge freezer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave and extra freezer.
• Through from the kitchen is the lounge with traditional stone fire surround encasing a wood burning insert fire. Comfortably furnished with satellite TV and video.
• Adjoining the lounge is a large dining room with large French oak dining table that will seat 6 – 10 people.
• There is also a separate quiet sitting area away from the TV.
• There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor. One of which is huge and will comfortably sleep at least 4 people. The second is a beautifully decorated double.
• The bathroom has a shower stall, bath, sink with a separate WC.

First Floor

• There is a generous double bedroom with King-size bed set between 2 beautiful and original oak frames.
• Large shower room with hand basin and WC.

Outside

• There is a seating area with table and chairs and a stone built barbecue set in extensive well-maintained gardens, leading to another large terrace with table chairs and garden bench overlooking the swimming pool.

About the location

The farmhouse is located in the middle of the Loire Region with its many historical towns, chateaux and bustling life. Le Mans – famous for its 24 heures racetrack and museum Saumur - beautiful historic châteaux, Troglodyte cave dwellings, WW2 Tank Museum and is centre of the regions wine trail. Angers - home of cointreau.

Tours - is the nearest airport just 40 minutes away. Also centre of cosmopolitan life style, with many bars, restaurants and cafes to relax after taking in the wide variety of shops, cathedrals and museums.

How to get here

La Paillasserie is easily reached by all forms of transport.

By Plane – There is a direct flight from Stansted to Tours by Ryan Air. The flight takes just over an hour and the prices are very reasonable. From Tours the house is approximately 45 minutes from the airport by car.

By Ferry – You can take the ferry from Portsmouth to Cherbourg, St Malo and Caen and the house is approximately 3 hours from St Malo Eurostar – from London Waterloo and then the TGV from Paris or Lille to Tours. The connecting drive from Tours in 45 minutes.
