Accommodation detail

Completely and sympathetically renovated the cottage offers comfort and character together with central heating throughout. 

Ground floor:

• Kitchen/dining room - a well equipped new kitchen incorporates electric oven and 4 ring hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, ample cupboards, sinks and worktops. The large dining area has a dining table comfortably seating six and antique oak dresser which is extensively stocked with cutlery, crockery and glasses. Exposed beams, stone walls and tiled floors.
• Cloakroom - cupboard and storage understairs with iron, ironing board, clothes horse and laundary basket. 
• Sitting room - charming carpeted sitting room, exposed stone wall (exposing an old bread oven). A spacious and comfortable room.  French windows, wall lighting, TV and DVD player. A varied range of DVD's can be borrowed from the owners.

An oak staircase leads to the first floor with exposed beams and exposed wood floors.

First floor:

• Bedroom 1 - open plan double bedroom with kingsize bed and bedside furniture. Ample shelves, cupboards and hanging spaces.
• Bedroom 2 - with  bunkbeds and adequate storage.
• Shower room - luxury multijet shower, wash basin set in antique unit, hair dryer, shaving point, and WC. Large heated towel unit.

Outside:

Private garden with sun terrace and garden furniture. Own linen line. Private car parking with automatic security lighting.

In the grounds, is a large old stone farmhouse at which bed and breakfast facilities are offered please contact the owner for details.

About the location

La Fontaine is an ideal staging point, from which to explore the Loire, Normandy and Brittany. About 1 mile away is the local market town of Gorron which has a range of facilities. Within easy driving distance are many more historic towns, mostly situated on major rivers and boasting a wealth of chateaux and ancient buildings to explore. A 20 minute drive will take you to Mayenne, the nearest of these.

Local villages pride themselves in their floral glory. The nearest coastline is under an hour away and just north of le Mont St Michel.

Additional price information

•  A 25% deposit is required at time of booking. Final payment due 4 weeks prior to your stay.    
• Your cottage is available from 4pm on the day of arrival until 10.30am on the day of departure.   
• Financial arrangements for short notice hire can be discussed with owners.

• All bedding and linen supplied free of charge and replaced weekly.
• Pets allowed but please consult owners.
• Available all year round and long stays are welcome(ask for our reduced rates)
