Home description

Pont des Ecures is the name of our gites, which translates, in old French to mean ‘Stable Bridge’ and is marked on all local maps. Many years ago this was the main farm in the local village, previously being used as a water mill, and for Cognac production. Our closest neighbours are over 500 yds away and we are just 100 yds from the small river Ne.

The open plan living area

Gite 1 is a one-bed gite designed for couples and comprises:

• Spacious double bedroom, with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and a box seat - which stores additional linen if required. The bedroom has an en-suite; this incorporates a shower, basin, and WC.
• Open plan kitchen and lounge area is furnished with TV/DVD player, Sofa and coffee table, full gas cooker, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dining table & chairs, plus ample kitchen units and worktop.

Outside

The kitchen opens out onto your own private terrace with your own garden table and chairs, clothes airer, deckchairs and coal barbecue.

In addition to this, this gite offers full central heating in low season.

About the location

We are situated on the outskirts of a small rural village called Angeduc, in the South of the Charente region.

We are just 20 minutes South West of Angouleme, 30 minutes South East of Cognac, 1-hour North East of Bordeaux, and only 1 hour East from the Coast of Royan.

How to get here

We are within a 30 min drive from our nearest Airport Angouleme, which arrives from Stansted by Ryanair. Also 4 other airports, Limoges, Poitiers, La Rochelle and Bergerac are all only a one and a half hour Drive.
