18th Century Watermill in the Druance Valley

La Moulin de la Houssaye is situated in the beautiful valley of the River Druance. Standing in 10 acres of hay meadows and ancient Bluebell Woodland, La Houssaye was originally a corn-grinding mill with its own independant brick beehive Bakehouse which is still standing, it was later used as a base to repair tanks when occupied by the Germans during the Second World War. Two of the original four mill wheels have now been replaced and it now generates its own electricity  using the passing mill stream.

The market town of Condé sur Noireau is a 10 minute drive and has all amenities. Ideally situated, the mill is situated on & close by  to several large rambling routes, which trail through the wonderfully unspoilt Normandy countryside. At just over an hour from the coast, La Houssaye is within easy reach of the Normandy landing beaches, Mont St Michel and many other attractions that Normandy has to offer.

Holiday Accommodation at The Watermill

  • One double bedroom and one twin room with two single beds both have views across the gardens towards the river and surrounding countryside.
