200 Year Old Farmhouse and Barn with Pool in a Medieval Village
L’Enclos is situated on 2 acres of park, at the edge of the tiny hamlet of Sergeac (Dordogne) and the Vézère river flows along one side of the park. It lies close to a 12th century church and next to an ancient commanderie from the Templars order.
Although secluded, Sergeac is by no means isolated. It is close enough to the main tourist sites for guests to get to them easily, yet it remains a haven of rural calm to retreat to after a day in the busier tourists hot spots.
The property lies roughly 9 kms from the town of Montignac-Lascaux, 18 kms from Sarlat and 22 kms from Les Eyzies.
This beautiful Perigourdian barn has been superbly renovated to make 2 seperate self-contained gites cottages, which can be let separately or as one.
Outside both cottages, there is garden furniture with large parasol and barbecues.
There is a swimming-pool (6 x 9) near the cottages. It is surrounded with bushes and trees and is shared with cottage guests and the owners. There is a terrace around it with sunbeds. The pool and terrace are entirely enclosed by child proof fencing.
A small charming house near the 'cottage guests' s has been turned into a playroom for young people and grown-ups, with a reading corner, board games, table football, a desk and wall writing board for young kids : a pleasant place where you can play and relax with the whole family.
There is also an outdoor table tennis table. Outside the property, a local tennis court is free.
The rest of the garden (which is entirely fenced and child safe) is also open to the “gites” guests.
The property is approached by a private driveway and has parking for several cars.
Both cottages have been furnished and equipped to a high standard, they are both suitable for families or couples. There are various items of equipment for babies and the owners will be happy to provide them on request.

Sergeac was a superb area to stay in the centre of so much to see and do. The owners, Christine and Jean-Claude were so hospitable, helpful and generous, giving us a wonderful insight into France.
We had 4 weeks booked in September and were on the go all the time, it was a great time to visit. We were sad to leave.
We loved the property with the pool, games room, extensive garden and also the pets. The gite came equipped with everything we needed.
It was lovely to be on the river's edge. Its a great location in the Vezere Valley and Sergeac itself is a beautiful, quiet medieval village. We thought the restaurant at Thonac, 2 km away, was one of the best we found during our stay.
We would recommend this to anyone.

'What a wonderful place and such wonderful people. We can't wait to come back again!' This was our second visit to Lo Gorro, a family of 4 -2 adults and 5 year old twins. The property is a home from home in the middle of a beautiful quiet village with your own garden and shared pool access. There is also a playhouse for the children so they were able to have their own time in a lovely safe environment where they could not want for anything.
Madame & Monsieur Spill are excellent hosts and the hospitality they provide is second to none. The surrounding area is beautiful with several caves, gorgeous villages and lovely restaurants within easy driving distance.
This property, the owners and the location are wonderful and we would recommend this to anyone. Thank you Madame and Monsieur Spill for a superb holiday and we will see you again soon!

We had a wonderful week at Lo Gorro in Sergeac. The gite is set in a beautiful, spacious garden with lots of different spots for outdoor rest and relaxation. The gite was clean, spacious and decorated in a modern French country style - we liked all the personal touches in mosaic, stencilling and decorative tiling.
The kitchen was well equipped and a pleasure to use. Most of all we loved the roof top balcony which is surrounded by trees and blue skies with nothing but the sound of birds and the nearby river.
The girls loved the play room which is thoughtfully equipped to cater for children of all ages, including a small library and sound system.
The lovely swimming pool is set in an attractive enclosure in the garden - we particularly appreciated the solar heating which allowed for warm water on cooler days.
We received a warm welcome at Lo Gorro including a welcome pack of local delights and the owners were on hand to offer information about local destinations. We particularly enjoyed being able to place a nightly order for fresh bread and croissants to be delivered in the morning.
We would highly recommend Lo Gorro in Sergeac as a perfect base from which to explore the delights of the Vezer Valley .

We spent a wonderful week in early September 2011 in Lo Gorro with our 2 1/2 yr old son and his grandmother and her husband.
The accommodation is tastefully decorated and has a large living space. It has been beautifully restored and we were pleasantly surprised to discover the first floor terrace when we arrived.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owners, who had thoughtfully provided (at no additional cost) a number of local food specialities and homemade items for our delectation. The homemade walnut cake was a highlight.
The gite is quite and also has a very pleasant outside seating area for evening dining and barbecuing. The village is small and has few facilities (no bar or shops), 'though some basic items can be bought in a local shop a couple of km away.
We would recommend ordering daily bread and pastries from the travelling boulanger via the owners. Awaking to fresh basket of quality baked bread items was heaven.
The gite is well equipped with cooking and cleaning items and it felt like almost being at home, 'though considerably quieter. The owners were really helpful and we always at hand to offer any advice on the local area.
Bergerac airport is a convenient and quiet gateway to the Dordogne and the car hire service provided by Buggs was a great solution to getting around and exploring the region.
It's a great place to relax and forget about all of the concerns of modern life - we returned feeling totally relaxed.
