Traditional Stone Chalet with Spectacular Views

The property is a restored traditional stone-built house in the village of Les Cours near Auris-en-Oisans. There are few ski areas to rival Alpe d’Huez for extent and variety of terrain. Alpe d’Huez has extensive, high, sunny slopes ranging from 3,320m to 1,120m. There are 235kms of pistes and 87 lifts in an efficient, modern system.

In the summer this is a tranquil retreat with great walks, plenty of activities, world class road cycling and mountain biking. The chalet has spectacular views down the valley to Bourg d’Oisans.

Les Cours is at 1,400m, and is a delightful place with narrow winding streets, typical farmhouses and a quiet friendly atmosphere. It is a small peaceful village, and you certainly will not encounter rowdy youths in the street at night, or be kept awake by nightclub music. If you like a good beer or a nice bottle of wine in front of a roaring fire, then the local Auberge, 25 metres away, is perfect.

It has baby facilities, making it ideal for families and friends to vacation together. A floor plan is available on our website (please email us for the site link).

While our chalet is a very short drive or bus ride from the best family resort in the Alpe D'Huez domaine, our prices are approximately half that of comparable ski-in / ski-out chalets, which works out at almost £1,000 less than our competitors in high season. We have structured our prices to provide sizeable discounts for smaller groups of up to 4 (outside of high season).

About Auris in Isère, Rhone Alps

Les Cours is a no-through village, and hence practically car free. While the majority of local facilities can be found at Auris, 3kms away, Les Cours has a fine Auberge where the owners speak perfect English and the food is excellent and amazingly good value.

In Auris, you will find grocery stores, a cash point, restaurants/bars, a medical centre and Ski Shops. Auris has more variety for apres ski, and it is only a short taxi drive back to the chalet.

At Bourg d’Oisans, down in the valley, there are 10 bars, 15 restaurants, a large supermarket, two chemists, three doctors and a variety of other stores.

How To Get To Auris in Isère, The Rhone Alps (SE France)

By car
the chalet is 570 miles or approximately 8 hours drive from Calais, and a similar distance from St Malo, Caen, Cherbourg and Le Harve.

By air
Easy Jet and Ryan Air fly to Grenoble, and Lyon is served by British Airways, Air France, Aer Lingus and Easy Jet. Access to the chalet is quick and easy from Grenoble airport (90 mins) and Lyon airports (105 mins).

Car hire is available from both airports.

By train
the TGV links Grenoble directly to Paris.
