Farmhouse with Gardens, Floodlit Pool and Family Games Field
Mas du Pla de Railla is an old farmhouse that has been renovated to a high standard. It is located in the heart of the countryside, nestled among peach orchards, cherry and olive groves. The house is completely detached and offers total privacy and tranquillity, yet is only a few minutes drive from the “chic” historic market town of Thuir. The sun kissed Mediterranean beaches, cosmopolitan Perpignan, Spain and the Pyrenees Mountains are all within 30 minutes drive. The winter ski resorts are just one hour away.
Outside the House:
You arrive to the property via a long private drive bordered on the one side by an impressive 6 ft. wall of oleander bushes with the most beautiful pink and white blossom and on the other by a peach orchard. The gardens approx 2 acres formerly peach orchards divides into several parts.
The first part is the garden that surrounds the farmhouse and contains a large patio area which houses a barbecue and large dining table and chairs and is an outside kitchen. This area is perfect to dine and relax on those balmy summer evenings where stargazing is a must. Shooting stars are commonly observed particularly having consumed some of the delightful local wines. This area also contains a bed of roses that offer a beautiful scent that surrounds the property. There are also several fruit and nut trees namely peach, cherry, pear, almond, hazelnut, walnut and olive. You are welcome to pick your own, season permitting.
This area also contains the floodlit swimming pool that is provided for your exclusive use, and is fully maintained by the owner on his visits twice weekly. The pool is completely fenced with a lockable gate making it safe for families with young children. Sun beds are provided and there is ample room for sunbathing.
Behind the pool is a playing field which is fully equipped for football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and bowls something for all the family. There are spectacular views of Mount Canigou, which is normally snow capped from November to June and dominates the skyline of this beautiful region.
Another part of the garden is the car park where up to 6 cars can be securely parked.

- “House cleaning” - A 50e charge is levied on all bookings that covers the complete house clean on departure.
- Linen packs are available at £6 per person.This includes all bed linen, a hand and bath towel. It does not include beach towels.

Holiday Accommodation at Mas Du Pla De Railla
You enter the house via a large combined lounge / kitchen.
- Kitchen has a gas oven and hob with extractor fan, microwave dishwasher and fridge-freezer. It is well equipped with every appliance needed to self cater. A door off the kitchen exits to the large patio terrace that operates as the summer dining area.
- Lounge is large and bright and houses a dinning table and chairs, a TV DVD/Video/Stereo system with CD player and has a log burning fire. There are also two sofas that can if necessary be used as additional beds. There is a hallway from the lounge and from this you can access the rest of the farmhouse.
- Shower room with washbasin and toilet.
- Utility room should you want to do some essential washing.
- Three large double bedrooms are also accessed from the hallway all of which have patio doors leading out onto the floodlit terraces. The master double bedroom, Moroccan in its style, has a double bed, bedsides tables with reading lights, a very large en-suite walk in shower room with washbasin. There is also a dressing room off this bedroom. The second and third double bedrooms are also off this hallway and both have double beds, wardrobes and bedside tables with reading lamps. There is a 2nd separate toilet also off this hallway.
- Bathroom is also off the hallway and contains a bath, shower and double washbasin.

- Fourth double bedroom which also has a separate dressing room. In this room there are two single beds, a chest and bedside tables with reading lights.

Car hire in Spain is normally cheaper than France but you should ensure your hire agreement allows you to take the car out of Spain and into France.

A great house in a fabulous location with excellent hosts. The children could run and play around the whole property site in complete safety. The pool area could be locked which with a very adventurous 4 year old boy was an enormous relief.
We have already booked for 2012.

We took our daughters their husbands and our grandchildren to celebrate our wedding anniversary to Mas Du Pla De Raiila. My wife and daughters spent most of the holiday soaking up the sun by the pool.
My son in laws playing table tennis, football and volleyball in the games field, with and often without my grandchildren. Me I sat in the shade under the mulberry trees reading good books and drinking
even better wines. We had the best family holiday ever. Thank you Helene and Bob the great hosts.

The Villa is very private and has a fantastic pool. If you want to keep out of the Sun, there is plenty of shade under the trees where you can keep cool whilst sipping your favourite drink.
The amenities are superb with a large kitchen, 4 big bedrooms and plenty of seating both inside and out. A great place to stay, just a few minutes from the town of Thuir where they have supermarkets, local shops and fresh bread every day. Want a family holiday in the Sun, then this is the place to go.
