Situated just a mile from the property, the village has a pretty cobbled square with covered arcades where you will find a patisserie, pharmacy, bar/bistro and a restaurant. There is a market day each Tuesday when the square is packed with stalls selling fresh produce and local delicacies.

Vineyards and sunflower fields dominate the rolling rural landscape and the quiet roads, country trails and the nearby Forest of Gresigne are ideal for walkers and cyclists. The vineyards form the vast Gaillac wine region where vines have been cultivated since Roman times and a visit to one or more of them for a ‘degustation’ is a very pleasant way of spending a little time.

A number of other hilltop medieval bastide villages are all within a short drive. Cordes sur Ceil is probably the best known, but Puycelci, Penne and Bruniquel are also well worth a visit. A twelve minute drive away, the nearby town of Gaillac provides a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants and the 10th century Abbaye St. Michel where there are regular concerts throughout the summer. Just a little further afield the city of Albi provides yet more choice as well as the magnificent gothic cathedral of Saint-Cecile and the Toulouse Lautrec museum.

Throughout the summer the different towns and villages have regular fetes and other events as well as traditional weekly markets.
