About the location

Les Tourettes is approximately 7 kms from Chateauponsac and consists of about 12 houses. It’s a very quiet and tranquil area with rearing Limousin cattle being the main economy.

Chateauponsac is a town of about 2000 inhabitants with all the necessary shops required for daily life, including an Eco-Marche (supermarket). It has a number of bars and cafes, and a regional museum located in the Chateau. The town dates back to the Gallo-Roman period and many local antiquities can be visited. A market is held every Friday and sells old-fashioned farmers' produce and other local products necessary for everyday life. A variety of specialist local foods can be purchased and the regional cuisine is based on meat and dairy dishes unique to the area. Although not a wine producing area, it is within a short distance of 3 superior wine areas - Bordeaux, Loire and the South West, and a vast choice of wines is available.

We had been told that we didn't understand just how remote this place was (we had google earthed it) we knew!! For a complete get away from it all, for your own pool where your 5 year old learns to swim in a day, for table tennis, for archery, for nights on the terrace watching the asteroid display, for bats and owls and giant frogs, this is the place for the family to come and relax.

Add to this several containers throughout your stay of fresh vegetables grown 50 metres away in the garden that just turn up on your doorstep and you have the perfect recipe for a perfect holiday.

This place is rustic French Farmhouse Perfection.

The most relaxing holiday!

Gorgeous property and fabulous pool, such lovely views.  The property is owned by such a lovely couple, the whole experience is just fantastic. The children really loved the holiday, so much to do. Really good location for touring!

A most relaxing break. The property has everything you could possibly require in a holiday home, with plenty of room and entertainment both indoor and outdoors for adults and children.

Geriant is a fantastic host who is approachable and frequently on hand to chat and answer questions. Would recommend for anyone wishing to get away from it all. However, not for those who like to be within walking distance of shops and restaurants- it really is very remote.

What a haven of tranquillity.  Our party consisted of three adults and one child so we had more space and beds than we knew what to do with. The facilities were excellent and the location was perfect. The only fault we could find was with the weather! Geraint was so helpful and kept the pool beautifully clean. We would have loved to have stayed longer. This is the best self-catering house we have stayed in during our many visits to France.

We rented the house for 6 months during the winter of 2009 and came back for a week's summer holiday.

The house is large and well equipped with everything you need for a holiday. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. The house is convenient for Limoges airport. The pool and safe, enclosed garden are great for children. There's plenty of games and activities in the house and barn for when the weather's not so good. Geraint's delicious produce from the garden kept us fed for the whole week. Strongly recommended.
