Home description

La Sensive is a gîte with superb views set in grounds of 4,000m², in the countryside of the Sarthe department (72) of North West France. Situated between Alençon and Le Mans, close to the main road network south from Caen and Le Havre, you can stay in a converted barn which includes an indoor heated swimming pool. The grounds are shared with the English owners of the Gîte.

The Gîte comprises:

• ‘La chambre verte’ - 1 double bed with an en-suite bathroom
• ‘La chambre jaune’ - 1 double bed + 2 single beds with en-suite. 
• ‘La chambre bleue’ - 1 single bed + 1 double bed with en-suite. 
• Fourth bathroom with shower, washbasin and wc
• Living room with TV, Playstation games console and Hi fi
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Dining room
• Swimming pool of 10m x 4.5m is heated all year. The pool is 2m at it’s deepest point with a shallow area ideal for young children – 90cm deep and level for 3m before sloping to 2m depth.
• Out of season  the rooms are available for Bed and Breakfast. For information on availabilty and rates please contact the owners.

Outside:

• Petanque area
• Self contained patio with barbeque facilities

About the location

The village centre is 2km away (about 15 minutes walk). The gîte is in the heart of the Sarthe countryside, surrounded by fields and hills. The area is incredibly peaceful and quiet. The lack of light pollution allows millions of stars to be visible at night. Local restaurants within a 15 minute drive. We are 2 hours from Caen, 2½ hours from Le Havre and Paris CDG airport, 3½ hours from Calais.

• The prices above are for up to seven people  including bed linen. We have added an additional double bed and a bed settee  increasing the capacity to11 in total, at an additional rate of 15 Euros per night per person.
• Above prices are based on a 1 week stay.
• Shorter periods can be accommodated.
