This 'honeymoon' gite is located just outside the historic Roman town of Vaas on the Loir river near Château du Loir and within easy reach of Le Mans. It is close to amenities but has a secluded and private garden. It is ideally placed for exploring the Châteaux and vineyards of the region. This charming cottage is stylish and comfortable, combining traditional charm, a modern interior and luxury conveniences.

The interior has been newly refurbished and great thought has been given to interior design and finishing touches.

As you enter, you will be greeted with a ‘Little Treats’ pack containing essentials such as tea, coffee and fresh baked bread to get you in the mood for your holiday.

The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and coffee maker, in addition to essentials like kettle and toaster.

The property has a full entertainment system with satellite and DVD. There is a 'Ministry of Sound' sound system with CD player and radio plus board games, DVDs and a library of books. For winter lets the gite is heated by electric radiators. For those of you who can't bear to be out of touch with the outside world WiFi is available.

The property has access to a secluded garden plus garden furniture and barbecue and private terrace.

Our ‘Little Hideaway’ has all you need to escape from the rest of the world. Designed for a couple – everything is in place for a memorable stay. When you enter the property, the interior belies the traditional exterior. Inspired by a Manhattan loft, the décor is contemporary and striking. Amenities such as flat screen LCD TV and a Ministry of Sound stereo system all echo the New York lifestyle without the city madness.

Downstairs:

• Living Area - large open plan living area with fully equipped kitchen, dining and seating areas. Flat screen TV and state of the art ‘Ministry of Sound’ Hi-fi system.
• The kitchen with gas hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and coffee maker.

Upstairs:

• Bedroom – large room with King size bed, storage and hanging space.
• Shower Room - Stylish modern shower room with ‘zen’ style basin, shower and WC.

No children under 15 or pets allowed – the peace and tranquillity reserved for those who are young-at-heart.

About the location

The Loire is known as the ‘Garden of France’ thanks to its temperate climate and abundant local produce. You will find a wide selection of interesting towns & villages on your doorstep.

Vaas is a small market town 1 km away which has a wealth of shops to suit both functional and recreational shopping. There are pleasure boats and canoeing on the river and local ‘moulins’ to explore. There is market twice a week on Monday afternoon and Friday morning. There is also a train station.

Le Lude is a 10 minute drive from Vaas, offering spectacular river views, magnificent châteaux and boutiques, restaurants, bars and historic buildings, as well as superb markets.

Vaas and Le Lude are both on the Loir and are full of history and culture.

Le Mans, approx 30 minutes drive away, as well as being famous for car and motorcycle racing has some of the best preserved Roman walls in Europe, a preserved Jacobean centre and a magnificent cathedral in the old town.

The Loire Region is steeped in history and provides many attractions with its museums, abbeys, medieval churches, cathedrals, and troglodyte caves - all close by. This was the area of the Plantagenets - Henry II, Eleanor of Aquitaine and Richard the Lionheart are all buried nearby at Fontevraud Abbey. Joan of Arc and Rabelais have links with the ancient château town of Chinon, 30 miles to the West.

Eating out - the options are endless, delicious and incredibly good value from casual bars and local haunts to fine dining at chateaux.

For adults (who are really kids at heart) there is a fabulous zoo at La Flèche and there are 140 ‘Boules’ clubs in the area for those who want to play with the locals. There are several excellent golf courses in the area.
