Accommodation detail

The living accommodation comprises:

• Open plan kitchen and living room – well-equipped kitchen with gas cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, dining area and wood burning stove.
• Bedroom 1 – on the upper ground floor with built in wardrobe and comfortable double bed with views over the garden and surrounding countryside.
• Bedroom 2 – very large room on the first floor with exposed beams furnished with wardrobe, dressing table, two single beds and a double bed with views of the stars through the Velux windows. Restricted head height in some areas.
• Shower room - on the upper ground floor.
• Utility room - with washing machine 

The house is tastefully furnished and well equipped including hairdryer, travel cot, iron and ironing board, CD player, selection of books along with outside sun loungers. 

Outside:

The covered balcony has a table and 3 chairs and is ideal for breakfast or coffee as it catches the morning and early afternoon sun. There is a large garden table and chairs under the shade of one of the vines for those lazy long lunches or a barbecue for the evening. 

About the location

The nearest restaurant is less than 2 miles away and serves an excellent well priced lunch. The nearest supermarket and wide range of shops are 6 miles away in the beautiful riverside town of Brantome. The area has recently been designated a national park and has an abundance of well marked tracks through the forests and rolling countryside, ideal for both walking and cycling. Maps of the routes are available to borrow at the property, and provide varying distances to suit all abilities. Brantome has a cycle hire outlet, details of which are available at the property.

How to get here

The nearest airports are  Bergerac 1 1/4 hours, Limoges 1 1/4 hours, Bordeaux 2 hours (a great place to visit for a day. The property is 490 miles from Calais with all but the last 50 miles on motorways. Ryan air are starting flights from London Stansted to Angouleme early april 2008, which is only 38 miles from the property, so probably worth checking their web site.
