A well equipped comfortable modern home, sleeping six, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The property enjoys breathtaking views of mount Canigou which is snow capped from November to May.

Set in its own garden with terraces surrounding the private floodlit swimming pool, the house offers peace and tranquillity and yet is only a two minute walk into the village of Maureillas, where there is a post office, a market, butcher, two bars and wine shops, a restaurant, two patisseries, a pizza shop, a large boules ground and in fact, all the amenities you would require.

The accommodation comprises:

Inside

• On entering the house you arrive into the hallway where you have access to the kitchen' living room and bedrooms
• Kitchen with a gas oven with hob and extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with freezer. It is well equipped with all appliances and accessories you would need to self cater
• Lounge/dining room with dinning table and chairs, two reclining chairs, and a sofa which also acts as a further double bed should you require. There is also a television with limited Uk TV (All the BBC and ITV channels) a DVD player, hi fi and attractive wood burner which is only for use in the winter period. From the lounge there are three sets of French doors that exit onto either the front, side or rear terrace
• Double bedroom with double bed, with built in wardrobes, bedside tables and reading lamps
• Twin bedroom with built in wardrobes, bedside tables and reading lamps. The beds can be used separately or together as a double bed, depending on your requirements
• The main bathroom has a bath and over head shower facility, wash basin and toilet
• A second separate shower room with wash basin has the washing machine (should you need to do some essential holiday washing)
• There is also a second and separate toilet off the hallway

Outside

There are two separate gardens. The front is laid to gravel, and you are welcome to relax and sunbathe on the sun beds supplied. The back in contrast has a tiled terrace, and is home to the private floodlit swimming pool.

The pool and gardens are fully maintained for your enjoyment.

There is an outside dinning table and chairs, sun beds and barbecue available for your use. The views from this terrace are truly spectacular by day or even better still by night, while sampling some off the first class local wines.

About the location

The sun kissed Mediterranean beaches are a mere 20 minute drive and the Spanish border, where there is tax free shopping is literally on your doorstep as it is 2 km away. The charming medieval town of Ceret famous for its modern art museum where works of Piccasso and others are exhibited is just a 5 minute drive. The Saturday market here being a must visit. The winter ski resorts are an hour and a half away.

How to get here

There are several nearby airports that service this region. Perpignan is a 25 minute drive, Carcassonne and Monpellier an hour and a half. Just over the border Girona in Spain is 45 minutes away.

Additional price information

• Lettings are from Thursday (4.00p.m.) to Thursday (10.00a.m.) from July to August
• Linen pack £6 per person per week. This includes all bed linen a bath and a hand towel. It does not include pool or beach towels. Should your holiday be of more than 1 week’s duration you can opt for the one week pack and wash your own linen during your stay.
• House cleaning : 40 €. This charge is levied on all bookings and covers the complete house clean on departure. It includes the cleaning of all floors, sinks, showers, baths and toilets making the property ready for the incoming guests.
