L’Etre Corneilliet is an authentic, traditional  “Maison de Maitre” set in the fabulous French Normandy countryside within easy reach of Caen ferry or Dinard airport. Set in an area of outstanding beauty near pine forests and lakes, L’Etre Corneillet has 3 acres of private land as well as a magnificent indoor heated swimming pool making it suitable as both a summer holiday home or a fantastic winter retreat.

Offering seven bedrooms and three bathrooms set over three floors and sleeping up to 15 people, L'Etre Corneillet is ideal for large, two or three families holidaying together.  The house is traditionally furnished yet contains every modern convenience - dishwasher, dryer, American style fridge, internet connection and satellite TV. There is a main kitchen and two smaller ante-rooms containing further kitchen equipment. The dining room has a large table seating 10, an extension table is available for additional seating. Two baby cots and 2 highchairs are provided. There are books,  toys and games to suit all ages, including a large doll's house. Linen, towels, heating, gas, electricity and a basic welcome food pack are all included. The property has a railed wooden staircase and care must be taken with small children. Stair gates are provided.

There are two enclosed garden areas as well as larger areas beyond, which is a mix of patios, lawn and meadow. There is a 14ft  trampoline, swings and slides, sandpit and playhouse. There is also a separate games room containing table football, table tennis and snooker table. There is outside barbecue equipment. The indoor pool has its own entrance, changing rooms, shower and toilet and inflatables for the pool. The pool water and air are both heated. In the summer, the large glass doors can be opened up leading on to a patio area with sunbeds and umbrellas.

About the location

L’Etre Corneillet is in the small village of St Sauveur de Carrouges (61320) in Lower Normandy. The nearest town is Carrouges, which is just over one mile away. In Carrouges there are a number of small shops, boulangerie and a beautifiul Chateau (Chateau de Carrouges).

As a large part of the region is deemed a national park, it is excellent cycling and walking country, with some fabulous forests and picnic spots. Horseriding is another favourite pursuit. A car is needed for most journeys.

Places to visit are all within 15-120 minutes from the property. Carrouges, Argentan , Alencon. Haras du Pin, Bagnole de L'Orne, Deauville, Suisse Normande, Landing Beaches.

How to get here

By Ferry: from the UK the nearest ferry port is Caen which is approximately 1.15 minutes drive to the property. The Portsmouth/Caen route is operated by Brittany Ferries. An alternative is Portsmouth/Cherbourg, which adds another hour onto the drive time, but is a shorter ferry crossing. This route is also operated by Brittany ferries. If you take the Dover/Calais or Dover/Boulogne crossing the drive time is approximately a 4 hour drive to the property. LD Lines also run a Portsmouth-Le Havre route which is approximately a 1 hour 45 minute drive to the property.

By Air: from the UK Dinard is the nearest airport. Ryanair has cheap flights from East Midlands or London Stansted. The drive time from Dinard is approximately 2.30 hours. A wide range of car hire options is available from Dinard Airport.
