Le Pont de la Forge meaning 'the forge by the bridge'. The cottage was once part of an iron ore and in later years, a paper mill complex. Now it has been restored into a beautiful cottage and barn, secluded and with superb views over the valley. It is set in half an acre of well maintained garden with a swimming pool (10 x 5m x 1.20m deep).

The Cottage

The Cottage has been completely restored to a very high standard and tastefully decorated with good quality furniture.

• The lounge/dining room is large with picture windows overlooking the gardens, giving a feeling of space and light and has a fireplace and satellite television.
• The kitchen is fully equipped, including a microwave and has dark oak fitted cupboards.
• The old bread oven/utility room with the washing machine and tumble dryer.

There are tiled floors throughout, except in the bedrooms.

• Three bedrooms, two with double beds; the third bedroom has a single bed and bunk beds, sleeping a total of seven.
• The bathroom has a shower, large washbasin and bidet.
• The Separate WC.

The Barn

The Barn is a self contained apartment adjacent to the courtyard with

• Double bedroom.
• Shower room and WC.
• The living room and kitchen has a large decking balcony with a view down the valley.

The Barn may only be taken together with the cottage.

Outside:

• The gardens are for you to enjoy and there are sunbeds, garden table and chairs, parasol, barbecue and games for the children.

About the location

Situated in the northwest of Normandy on the borders of Calvados, the Valley de Brouains is just 3 kms from Sourdeval, our nearest town. Only a few minutes drive away, the town offers every amenity including two banks and supermarkets. Market day is held every Tuesday morning, as is the livestock market.

There is an abundance of history around, all within approximately ninety minutes drive. The beaches of the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy, the American Cemetery, the ancient town of Bayeux, where you can see the famous Bayeux Tapestry, the great cathedral of Le Mont St Michel and, just an hour away, the beautiful beaches of the west coast.

• All prices are per week for cottage and barn from Saturday to Saturday arriving at 4pm departing at 10am , inclusive of electricity and gas.
• Bed linen and towels can be supplied for a small charge
• £5 per person for bed linen
• £5 per person towels 
• Book two weeks and bed linen and towels are included in price, plus a 10% discount
