Traditional Stone Cottage Located near Beaches in Brittany Countryside

Beauvoir is a charming 300-year-old stone cottage set in the midst of beautiful rolling farmland in the Breton countryside and has everything you want in a French vacation. Beauvoir Cottage comfortably sleeps 4, but could take 2 parents and 3 children. The large ground floor has a well furnished sitting area, a compact and well equipped kitchen and a pretty dining area.   There is a folding sofa bed, and a big comfortable sofa.   There are double french doors onto your own terrace and a very large (1/2 acre) walled garden.  The cottage has its own gated driveway and total privacy.  Upstairs is a large bedroom with a big skylight over the queen-sized bed- You will sleep under the moon and stars!   There is a very large bathroom with a new shower, and lots of storage space.  This cottage has beautiful linens and is well furnished.

Special features include a boules court in the big garden, french TV and plenty of DVD movies.  English speaking owners are on site and happy to give directions or suggestions for outings. All the surrounding towns have daily food markets, reflecting the french joi de vivre and quality of life.   Brittany has festivals every weekend in the summer and lots of antiques/brocantes fairs, with beautiful French linens and other great finds for a song...its a shopper's paradise, especially if you like shabby chic and those french house and garden items that are so cool.

Beauvoir is located just 2 kilometers from St. Quay Portrieux, a lively beach resort with a casino and many bars and restaurants.  Numerous beaches are a five to ten minute drive, and you can walk the famous “chemin de douaniers,” the custom men’s path, along the top of the cliffs for many kilometers from St. Quay to Paimpol.

Ground Floor

The ground floor contains:

• A small but efficient, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, electric cooker and oven
• A rustic dining area with a wood-burning granite fireplace
• A really comfortable and pretty seating area with a large sofa, a futon that sleeps 2 and an antique French day bed plus television and DVD player.  French doors lead to:
• A very large and beautiful walled garden with a private terrace for your exclusive use

First Floor

• Double bedroom with a skylight over it so that you fall asleep by starlight.   There is a single bed and a comfortable reading area
• The bathroom is really big and contains the toilet, shower and basin and lots of space to move around

About St Quay Portrieux in Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany

St. Quay Portrieux is 2 kilometers away, and has great beaches and good restaurants and bars, with delicious seafood.  Mussels with french fries (moules frites) and the famous breton crepes are readily available.  The gorgeous beaches and cliff walks of Brittany are numerous and close by. There are many picturesque towns to explore for beauty and history- there are fabulous daily markets in all surrounding towns with plentiful seafood , vegetables and meats, delicious cheeses and masses of beautiful flowers.  The quality of life in France is so important.   During the summer, there are flea markets and festivals all weekend every weekend. Every town has a beautiful old port, and there is a strong maritime tradition and history, with lots of nautical festivals every summer.  We love it and so will you!

How To Get To St Quay Portrieux in Côtes-d'Armor, North West France

St. Brieuc is the nearest big town on the railroad.  It is 20 minutes from Beauvoir, and one can rent a car at or near the station or take a taxi.

Ryanair flies into Dinard, and Dinard is about 45 minutes from Beauvoir. A rental car is necessary.

Ferries from England dock at St. Malo, which is about one hour by car from Beauvoir.

The nearest national highway is the N12, which runs east to west from Paris, and is also about 20 minutes from Beauvoir.
