Enjoy the quiet village life close to the coast and mountains. “8 Rue du Four” is a fully restored village house on three floors with a terrace overlooking a lovely square with oleander bushes. The square is pedestrian accessible only, although it is possible to squeeze a car up to unload luggage. 

Opoul is a friendly wine-producing village overlooked by a ruined 12th century chateau. The village is small enough that everything is within a couple of minute’s walk, and has that sleepy laid-back feel of the area.

Terrace, with table and chairs and barbecue. Faces southwest and is deal for watching the sunset! We like to sit here and have evening aperitifs, and occasionally have dinner here.

About the location

Opoul is located 12 Km from the Mediterranean Sea and 45 minutes from the Spanish Border. The nearest large town (and airport) is Perpignan, although there are several small villages, and the market town of Rivesaltes, nearby. The Autoroute is a 15-minute drive away, with a large Carrefour Hypermarket located near the turnoff. Many guests find it convenient to shop here. The next village towards the coast is Fitou, which is famous for it’s wine, and where there are several excellent restaurants.

“8 Rue du Four” is a fully restored village house on three floors, with a terrace overlooking a lovely square with oleander bushes. The square is pedestrian accessible only, although it is possible to squeeze a car up to unload luggage. The house is decorated in local style with tile and wood, and has central heating. The walls are over a foot thick which makes it cool in the summer, but cozy in the winter. There is plenty of parking available nearby.
