About Berganty in Lot, Midi Pyrenees

Situated in the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty famed for its ancient oak woodland and dramatic limestone landscape, Berganty feels far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern life. A pretty, quiet hamlet surrounded by rolling wooded hills country criss-crossed by footpaths, it is still conveniently close to many attractions you will not want to miss.

The Department capital, Cahors, is just 16 miles away. Parts of this picturesque, historical market town look as though they haven’t changed since the middle ages. Its cathedral is one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in France. Cahors has everything one could need by way of shops, supermarkets and restaurants, and holds two markets a week, where you can absorb a typically French atmosphere and sample local produce, including the region’s specialties such as cassoulet, foi gras and the famous Cahors wine.

Take a boat trip down the river Lot, wander around the boutiques or simply sit outside a French café drinking coffee.

3 miles down the road from Berganty you will find the spectacular medieval village of St Cirq Lapopie set on a precipice over looking the river and valley. Here you can explore the narrow alleys and look around the local craft shops.

The shops nearest to Berganty can be found in the village of Concots (3 miles) and Limogne (9 miles).

The house is approximately 60 miles from Toulouse International.
