Beautiful Romantic Private Farmhouse with Exclusive Pool & Amazing Views
'La Croix' is a lovely property, with wonderful views from the grounds and house, situated in a hamlet of the same name. It is 10 minutes drive from the large and popular village of Verteillac, which has everything you need on a daily basis. Riberac the local town with countless facilities and a spectacular Friday market, is only 20 minutes drive away. There and in villages from only 5 minutes distance you have a choice of restaurants, whilst a whole range of tourist sites can be easily reached. You will never be bored or exhausted by long, difficult drives, but experience quiet roads and amazing, relaxing views.
For your time at ‘home’ you will have the privacy of no resident landlord on site, but the pleasure of your own place, with help and advice coming from over the hill as often, or as infrequently as you wish.
Holiday Accommodation at Pure Tranquility La Croix
The house is on three levels and can sleep 4 people.
Granary level:
- Two good bedrooms - one double and one twin. Taller guests will find the doorways and some ceiling areas low here. Please revisit the photos.
- Bathroom - with toilet, bath and basin. The bath has a hand held shower unit and a window where you can see out, but no-one can see in! There are even lower ceilings in this room. Please revisit the photos.
Mid level:
- Very large, light full height salon with inset and free standing area lighting,an antique table for six, large leather sofa and chair, adjacent to the TV with English freebie channels. There is a big range of English paperbacks and some DVDs and CDs.There is a landline, which can be used by arrangement with the property manager.
- The kitchen area has a central work island with inset hardwood chopping area. There is an excellent quality of recently imported American implements and pans, including decent knives and a food processor. There is an under counter larder fridge and a fridge/freezer in the utility room.
- Sitting/dining room area has a door leading out onto a large covered balcony, which in turn looks out onto great views. This is where you may well find yourself eating and indeed sleeping on the comfortable futon. Star gazing is recommended. The salon can also be accessed without steps, from the lane side of the house for unloading shopping etc.
Lowest level:
(reached by internal or external stairs)
- Large basic utility room with washing machine, extra sink, tumble-dryer and fridge/freezer. This has low old double doors to:
- Big sun trap courtyard from where you can also access
- Shower and separate toilet, which are full height simple facilities, entered from the courtyard.
Outside stairs lead from here up to
- Salon level with a landing as yet another place to be.
Grounds
Once in the courtyard and having stocked the utility room fridge you may not want to move! However around the corner of the barn you can access the 5m octagonal pool, its surrounding decking and amazing views. Nearby is a large tree for natural shade, although parasols are provided and grassy grounds. There are many places to sit and enjoy the sun, shade and views.
Fittings/Equipment
Apart from the items already mentioned there is/are:
- Dishwasher, 5 burner gas cooker, microwave, larder fridge at kitchen level.
- TV with English channels, DVD and video in the salon.
- Telephone and also good mobile reception. The telephone is for incoming calls and outgoing card use.
- Comfortable mattresses and good bedding.
- There are insect screens to the windows in both bedrooms.
- A good range of outdoor furniture.
- Full central heating, with proper radiators and a wood burning stove for out of season visits.
- Undercover parking to keep the car cool.
- Two new, good quality bikes are available for you use at your own risk.
- With many stairs and open barns we regretfully suggest that La Croix is not suitable for children.
