This fabulous 300 year old farmhouse, surrounded by the famous vineyards of the south west France, lies on the edge of a tiny hamlet and has stunning views over rolling hills, meadows and woodland. A rustic blend of oak beams, terracotta tiles and bright, warm colours are the backdrop for spacious living areas with comfortable beds (one a four poster) and a large sunny kitchen. Outside there is a pretty garden, al fresco eating area and large swimming pool.
Sleeps 6 - arrangements can be made to sleep up to 3 more.
Cot provided if needed
Outside, the spacious garden is planted with mature trees which provide plenty of shade in the heat of the day. The large eco-treated pool is just ten metres from the cottage and positioned to ensure it gets the sun all day. By the pool is a wooden dining table and chairs shaded by Virginia creeper and honeysuckle - the perfect spot to enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine. Sun loungers and deck chairs lie scattered around the pool area with a large sun umbrella for the midday heat. The pool can also be lit at night if you fancy an after-dark dip. For the energetic, there is a volleyball net, croquet set, air-hockey table and boules. There will also be a sauna later in the year.

Had a lovely stay, everything great.....wonderful location in this beautiful part of france
There are literally hundreds of chateaux and vineyards in the area which open their doors for wine tastings. Our local Duras wine is superb with a terrific merlot and a cool fresh sauvignon blanc as well as excellent local organic reds and whites. Medoc, Graves, Pessac, St. Emilion, Cahors and Sauternes are all within easy driving distance and the dreamy Chateau Monbazillac is pure romance with superb views and a fabulous restaurant.
We are a five minute drive away from the lovely bastide town of Duras which has several cafes and restaurants and a large supermarket as well as a weekly fruit/vegetable/wine/cheese market. Visit the spectacular hill-top chateau, which also holds cultural events throughout the year.
The renowned Chateau Vigiers Golf and Country Club is just 15 minutes away and the gorgeous local countryside with traditional vineyards, plum orchards and fields bright with sunflowers, is perfect for a stroll, bike ride or a picnic.
Brocante fairs and vide greniers are in abundance throughout the year.
