This renovated 15th century townhouse on a quiet street in the mediaeval heart of Salies de Bearn is on three levels offering comfortable all year round accommodation.

With its excellent location close to the town centre, the house is in walking distance of all the town's facilities. There is parking space for one car outside the house and ample additional free parking space within close walking distance.

An attractive covered balcony running the length of the second floor that offers outside space for eating and relaxing overlooking the mediaeval street.

The house comfortably sleeps up to 5 people utilising the two bedrooms and a modern sofa bed in the living room.

About the location

Salies de Bearn is a picturesque mediaeval spa town with easy access to south west France and north west Spain. There is a good range of shops and restaurants, launderette and leisure pool within close walking distance of the house.  Each Thursday there is a market in the town square selling local produce. 

The town is famous for its thermal spa centre (therme).  The baths are open to the public and offer a range of beauty and health treatments.

Salies has good road access to the entire region, full of historic sites, ancient chateaux and pretty towns. Famous beauty spots such as Biarritz, St-Jean-de-Luz, Bayonne and Pau are within easy reach. The pilgrimage site of Lourdes lies just beyond Pau. There is good motorway access to Bordeaux, Toulouse and the cities of northern Spain such as San Sebastian.

How to get here

There are a number of accessible airports served by low cost airlines. Biarritz is 40 minutes drive away; Pau 35 minutes drive; Bordeaux 2 hours drive; Bilbao 2 hours drive.

By ferry, you can travel from Plymouth to Santander (3 hours drive).

There is a high speed rail link to Biarritz and a connection to Orthez (10 minutes drive).

Flights are now available from Birmigham to Biarritz.
