I must tell you we had a great week at La Bonnetie, the weather was perfect, the layout of the rooms suited our assorted family requirements, it is a very beautiful area to take a holiday. The childrens room/bathroom is great fun and you have some great ideas on how to furnish rooms. We enjoyed everything

I was there with a group of friends and had a throughly enjoyable time. A great house, with fantastic outdoor area, a great pool and stunning view. The entire party had a great time and there has been talk of going back. For a holiday with a bunch of friends, where you want freedom to be as loud or as quiet as you want, and yet still within close striking distance of major towns and sights, it really is a great venue.

La Bonnetie is a lovely property set in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards. The area is absolutely beautiful and with stunning views over the surrounding countryside, La Bonnetie makes a fabulous base for a holiday in the St Foy area of Bordeaux.

The property is well furnished throughout and is very spacious (we were 12 including 3 small children). The pool area makes for a wonderful place to relax. The infinity pool looks out onto the surrounding countryside and from here you can soak your cares away. The property even comes with its own donkeys in the adjacent field.

The nearest village is just a short drive away. There is a choice of bakers to purchase your bread from in the morning and some nice restaurants too. There is a great market in the village at the weekend but arrive early if you want get parked and avoid the crowds - it's very popular. There is lots to see and do in the area - even with small children. My only regret from this holiday is that we couldn't stay longer!

Tranquilly has been found if you stay at La Bonnetie!!  We were a group of 5 couples who stayed in the third week of September 2011 and had wonderful weather amongst grape picking machines, tractors and other activities.

The layout of La Bonettie was great with loads of room including an outside bedroom called the Safari room ( the occupants complained that with this name they did not see any elephants, lions or rhino!).  The enormous main gathering room could easily hold 50 people with room to spare and had the most lovely views from the adjacent breakfast patio. We found the one TV a challenge, perhaps this could be looked at in the future.  The kitchen was very large with a 12/14 seat capacity which made a good area for joint eating and drinking and a great area for the late night card schools.  Bedrooms were very acceptable for all age groups with a choice of shower facilities according to which bedroom you were in.  Outside was not spoilt by the attraction of the infinity pool which was a great gathering point set amongst the best of views that you could wish for, but remember that late September is not the warmest month and staying/getting into the non heated pool in an initial challenge but once in not bad at all.

We had a number of adventure day outs to Bergerac, Limoges and Villeneuve.  Locally, Sainte Foy la Grande is a charming town with a very expansive market on Saturdays and has a good choice of shops and Supermarkets. From La Bonnetie you can have 5-10 mile walks without issues, 10 mile bike rides before breakfast, walk to the next village for your croissants and venture out from Sainte Foy La Grande on an escorted three  hour 8 man canoe trip that is most interesting.

Word of warning if you travel from UK by sat nav and have googled La Bonnetie before you left don't do what some of us did and ended up at the wrong La  Bonnetie in Sarliac, about 40 miles away.  The lady of the house said she was not moving out as she had lived there for over three generations and consequently sent us packing!!!

We had a wonderful week in the farmhouse as a group of family and friends. There was plenty of space and things to do and the pool was fabulous! We would love to return next year!
