Luxury 1,2, 3 or 6 Bedroom Gites in Beautiful Farmhouse

Really, so much more than your average gites!   Truly a five star experience and at a very fair price. 

A large old Quercy stone farmhouse, offering very flexible accommodation, set in 6 peaceful acres of woodlands, gardens and meadows.  And yet... it is certainly not isolated, being just 20-25 minutes from Cahors, a big bustling old market town and with good access to airports Toulouse and Rodez (1 hr 10 mins). 

The house and gardens have been specifically designed to lend themselves to a happy balance of enjoying private time and socialising.  Take a week or even two in one of the gites, or combination of gites including the whole house, to suit your family or group.  Everyone so far has wanted to stay on.... and not go home ! 

Every bedroom has its own facilities. If you take the whole house for a house party, the larger unit, Tree with 3 bedrooms, has reception rooms which cope well with up to 10 people.  The house was recently (2006) restored in keeping with its original period (1830) and is furnished with style, flair, quality and imagination. Many original features – fireplaces, éviers, exposed beams, staircases and thick, old, stone walls but with all the mod cons too. 

Our guests tell us they are 'blown away' by the total tranquility of the place and the chilled ambiance interspersed with a wealth of fascinating day trips and outings - not to mention the wine, the food and the company! A well organised supply of tourist information is on hand for guests.

For the 'young' - it's kind of a 'Swallows and Amazons' place - toys, games, books, a real playhouse, 6 acres of woods and meadows to adventure in.  For 'teens' - plenty of their own space to chill, away from the "bigs".

The whole house accommodates a house party of up to 12 (5 couples) with an additional single bedroom in Oak with bunk beds for 2 children.

  • There is also a main living room, secondary living room, open plan double height kitchen/dining room and an office in Tree.
  • Oak has its own kitchen and dining room.
  • Acorn has its own galley kitchen. 
  • Every bedroom has its own dedicated shower/bath and WC
  • With an additional WC/shower/cloakroom in Tree.

About Escamps in Lot, Midi Pyrenees

The farmhouse is located 20 mins by car, west of Cahors dir Rodez on D911; 70 mins by car to Toulouse & Rodez airports.

  • It's 10 mins drive to nearest shops/restaurants.
  • Surrounded by historic towns and villages
  • Excellent cultural programme in July/August
  • Local markets for food and goods every weekend somewhere nearby - Sunday at Toulouse market is great fun and a good day trip.
  • Restaurants range from the humble and delightful to the grandiose and gourmand 
  • Endless chateaux and vineyards to visit
  • The River Lot is very unspoilt and offers great boating, canoing, fishing and swimming opportunities
  • Cahors is an extremely interesting and well-developed town with a programme of constant upgrading and great interest in the comfort and interest of tourists - without being too much so !
  • The tourist office is a wealth of information as indeed are the well-stocked and well-organised files of visitor information at Liberte.

Beautifully quiet property with a warm, welcoming proprietor who cannot do enough to make one feel at home.  The room is tastefully decorated, fully functional and impeccably clean.

I would certainly recommend this gite to any of my family or friends who want to spend a few relaxing days in superb countryside.

My family and I had a brilliant time staying in Truffle at Chi Morgan's classy, comfortable gite. With books and games on hand, beautiful countryside and fabulous meals cooked by Chi, it really was the relaxing break we had been longing for. Great walks, lovely markets and shops in Cahors, fabulous restaurants and evenings enjoying the warm weather and the beautiful garden at Liberte made this holiday a real treat. Thank you thank you thank you! We will be back!
