This traditional style chalet is in a fabulous location on the mountain at Les Houches, near Chamonix, and is available all year round. Constructed in 2002, the chalet offers luxurious accommodation that combines the best of traditional and modern features to provide a perfect base for winter and summer holidays.

L’Avant Poste is located at 1220 metres, and is one of the highest chalets on the mountain being located opposite the Maison Neuve chair lift. Nestling in a cluster of five chalets and with stunning views of the Mont Blanc range, including the Aiguille du Midi and the Aiguille Verte, the prime location makes this chalet popular with visitors all year round.

Chalet L'Avant Poste is one of the few ski in ski out chalets in the area and is ideal for families and groups

Chalet L’Avant Poste has four bedrooms with ample accommodation for 8 to 10 people.

Top floor

• Three bedrooms - two twin rooms and a double room. Two of these rooms have doors opening onto a balcony that looks straight onto the Aiguille de Midi and enjoys the morning sun.
• Superb bathroom with heated towel rail, toilet, sink and full size double ended bath with shower over.
• Open plan living and dining area has two patio doors leading onto a balcony that spans three sides of the house. The balcony is a real sun trap and outdoor furniture is provided to allow guests to take full advantage of the beautiful views and the sunshine. There is a flat screen TV on which UK terrestrial TV can be viewed, and a DVD player. There is also a CD system complete with iPod docking stations, so you can enjoy your music whilst on holiday. We also provide a diverse library of DVDs, videos and books for our guests to enjoy.

The chalet benefits from central heating and also has a very efficient wood burning stove which creates a warm and cosy atmosphere when lit.

• Open plan kitchen on the same floor is very well equipped with a large fridge with freezer compartment, microwave/grill, induction hob, full sized oven, sink and dishwasher. Also provided are a fondue set, slow cooker, raclette set and all the kitchen utensils and equipment you are likely to need during your stay.

The room also benefits from a further TV, video and PS2 (with over 35 games!) so can double as an area for youngsters to amuse themselves whilst the adults relax upstairs.

Outside is a spacious decking area which is an ideal place to enjoy food from the BBQ or on which to lounge in the sun.  There is ample parking for two cars on the private driveway.

About the location

Les Houches is a charming village in the Chamonix valley and the chalet is located outside of the main village, a short drive up the mountain. It makes an ideal base for the many outdoor activities in the area and is conveniently located for day trips to Switzerland and Italy (via the Mont Blanc tunnel).

The chalet is in a perfect location for keen skiers in the winter and for those seeking a peaceful base at other times of year.

Les Houches has two supermarkets, several excellent restaurants and bars, and is only a few kilometres from Chamonix itself, with its shops, restaurants and markets.

How to get here

Les Houches is just over an hour from Geneva airport by car, about an hour and a half from the airport at Chambray and is approximately 570 miles from the channel ports of Calais and Boulogne. Please contact the owner for full directions.
