A warm welcome awaits you at Le Chèvrefeuille, perfectly located in the heart of the Dordogne valley (Perigord Noir).

Le Chèvrefeuille is a beautiful 18th century farmhouse complex combining modern comfort with historical charm. Located in the picturesque and tranquil hamlet of Pechboutier, Le Chèvrefeuille offers five charming en-suite rooms and three self-contained gites, each with a private terrace and garden. Enjoy a magnificent meal of fine food and local wine freshly prepared by Ian, our trained chef and served in our stunning central courtyard.

Just 5km from the market village of St Cyprien, 7km from the ‘prehistoric capital’ of Les Eyzies and 17km from the medieval town of Sarlat, Le Chèvrefeuille provides the perfect place from which to explore the castles, rockart, caves and medieval villages which make up the vivid and diverse history of this region or simply to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

Outside area & additional facilities

Le Chèvrefeuille contains two large gardens with open and shaded areas ideal for relaxation and play. The meadow garden is for the exclusive use of guests in Passiflore, Grapevine and the Breadroom, who all have immediate access from their individual terraces. In the meadow garden, large walnut trees offer splendid shaded areas for eating or reading and from this garden you gain a beautiful view over Pechboutier and its woodland which provides a delightful spot for bird watching. A children’s play area located at the bottom of the garden provides entertainment for children in a safe environment that can be viewed from the terraces for the comfort and relaxation of the parents.

Our other garden leads out from the front of the Chambre d’hote and is for the enjoyment of our room guests. It is a walled garden with different seating areas and sunloungers.

We offer an indoor children’s playroom including toys and for those who wish to explore the stunning scenery of the immediate area we have bikes available, including a children’s bike seat.

Baby equipment is available, which includes cot, bedding, changing mat, toys, highchair, soft chair and stair gate.

Washing machine, ironing facilities and washing line are provided for the benefit of the guests.

There is amply car parking facilities.

Tower Room

We have three standard rooms, the Garden room, Tower room and Courtyard room. All our rooms are of generous size; contain European king-size beds and en-suite shower rooms.
The Tower room shown here is located in one of our two Pergordine towers at the front of the property and has lovely views.

About the location

There are many places of interest in the Perigord Noir; here are a few of our favorites:

• Sarlat: The historic medieval market town with its restaurants, cafes and bars as well as shops, supermarket, banks, pharmacies and an excellent hospital. It is one of the most attractive towns in the south-west France . Street entertainment for all the family during the summer evenings. The picturesque market on Wednesdays and Saturdays takes place in the centre of the old part of town.
• Lacave Caves were discovered in 1902 at the foot of the cliffs near the river Dordogne , 15 kms north of Rocamadour. A lift and an electric railway brings you to a subterranean platform from which a tour of a mile of galleries begins.
• Rocamadour is an enchanting place to visit, close to the Dordogne Valley with its cliff faces it has long been a place of pilgrimage and inspiration. A medieval fortified town in a remarkable situation set along the sides of a single street which winds its way up a rocky cliff face above the gorge of Alzou.
• Dordogne Valley is close where you can canoe, kayak, swim and fish and the Dordogne valley with its famous sites Beynac , La Roque Gageac, Montfort, Castnelnaud, Domme and Vitrac.
• Beynac with its 13 th century castle which gives a magnificent view over the valley. Domme remarkable for its setting overlooking the River Dordogne is a fine example of a bastide and fortified town. La Roque Gageac huddles at the base of a vertical cliff overlooking the Dordogne valley, the village makes an extremely picturesque sight. There are many old houses and mansions divided by narrow streets and alleys and the church provides good views.
