Our three tastefully furnished yet child-friendly gites are ideal for couples, families or, if rented together, larger groups. Whether you prefer wine-tasting, fishing, shopping for local produce and antiques in village markets or simply relaxing by the pool, Domaine de la Dolce offers the perfect base from which to enjoy one of the most beautiful parts of France.

Domaine de la Dolce is a true paradise, both for children and their parents. Each gite is single-level and has satellite TV, DVD, high-quality beds and a large, private terrace with beautiful views. The salt-filtered pool with its large terrace, comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas for shade is set to the side of the gites so as not to impair the view from the gite terraces. For the children there is a spacious and very well stocked games room with lots of indoor and outdoor toys, books and games, and an exciting playground with toddler swings, sandpit, climbing tower and slide.

We provide a vast array of baby and toddler equipment free of charge and even the pool towels are included, so that you can fly to Bergerac or Toulouse without having to pack much at all.

Master Bedroom of La Luciole

La Luciole is a tastefully furnished well-equipped two-bedroom cottage with

• Kitchen/living area - well-equipped and has a dining table and four chairs. The sitting area has two armchairs, English satellite TV and a DVD/CD player. It has two sets of French doors leading to the south-facing private terrace, which has lovely views and is equipped with wooden patio furniture and a barbecue.
• Master bedroom - spacious (17m²) with a new bed (super king, but we can make it as twin beds) and comfortable sprung mattress, ideal for people with back problems. Its antique wardrobe and chest of drawers provide ample storage space.
• Second bedroom - contains sturdy, adult-sized bunk beds, a wardrobe and chest of drawers and also has space for a cot.

You are provided with high quality cotton bed linen and towels and the pillows and mattresses have anti-allergy protective covers.

• Bathroom - has both a bath and a separate shower, and a towel heater for chilly mornings.

Heating: Each room has a new electric radiator, producing comfortable, non-drying heat for out-of-season stays.

About the location

Domaine de la Dolce is set among the rolling hills, forests and farmland which separate the Lot and Dordogne rivers. We are less than 3 km from the charming medieval bastide village of Montcabrier with its traditional wood-oven bakery and 14th century church. Within 15 minutes drive are Puy l'Eveque, Villefranche du Perigord, Cahors wine country, the magnificent Chateau de Bonaguil, tennis, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, and endless country walks. An 18-hole golf course is only a half hour's drive away and the many famous prehistoric caves of the region all make an easy day trip. Montcabrier has its own evening market in July and August and many fantastic restaurants, farmers markets and large supermarkets are within easy driving distance. How to get here

We are at the Dordogne border, 45 minutes west of Cahors, one hour northeast of Agen and south of Sarlat, and just 12 minutes from both beautiful Puy l'Eveque and Villefranche du Perigord.

We are an hour from Bergerac airport, just under two hours from Toulouse airport (Blagnac), 2.5 hours from Bordeaux airport, and about three hours from Rodez.

By car we are less than six hours from Paris via the A20 motorway, and count on eight or nine hours from Calais.
