Large Luxury House with Heated Pool, Tennis Court & Views

Hilltop House has been a wonderful home for family holidays for several years. It is set in the beautiful green rolling countryside of the Perigord, within easy reach of a host of tourist attractions. The house, with all its facilities is for your exclusive use, with no one else living on site, but managers just a phone call away.

Its popularity is the combination of being a superb,peaceful place to relax at 'home', combined with easily accessible supermarkets, markets, restaurants and places to visit.

Holiday Accommodation at Hilltop House

Hilltop House has been converted to a very high standard. The house is light and bright throughout, with interesting antique furniture and comfortable beds and chairs. The windows overlook views and have shutters that can be closed to keep the house cool.

Ground floor

Gated stairs lead up to the landing, off which are a

At this level there is also a

  • Very large well furnished salon with a TV, ( English channels), DVD and video
  • Additional dining area and windows overlooking lovely views.

A corridor from the salon accesses the

  • Utility room - with large American style machines
  • Family bathroom with shower enclosure and bath and separate toilet.

Stairs up from the salon lead to a

  • Simple carpeted twin/triple bedroom

Cots and high chairs can be provided.

The very well equipped kitchen on the ground floor, has all you need to cook with the excellent local produce. This can be eaten at the farmhouse table or taken to the table on the adjacent tree shaded terrace, where there is also a  large gas barbecue.

Outside:

The large mature gardens are beautifully planted, overlooking views of surrounding woods and fields. There is a wonderful tennis court, with a cushioned resin surface (excellent for people with joint problems), a high practice wall and still those amazing views. Alongside the tennis court is an area of grass suitable for children's games.

The large, heated if need be, fenced ( with self closing security gate) swimming pool has good sized terraces and plentiful loungers and parasols, table and chairs. There are Roman steps for little ones to splash on and a salt water system which is kind to the skin, plus a pool side shower. And still those views!

A fenced pool is so relaxing for parents with the children safely 'trapped' in with you, or shut out when you are not there. Far more practical than a pool alarm.

Hilltop House is perfect for a large family/families or a re-union of friends. We have worked hard to provide you with a lovely home for your holiday and ask that you take care of it during your stay.

About St Martial Viveyrol in Dordogne, Aquitaine

A guest book and local large scale maps will be provided containing up to date information about shopping, restaurants and visits. This will help you 'land with your feet running'. The following can be a summary only, with all driving times in average minutes (mins.), down country roads with lovely views.

Hilltop House is on the crest of a hill in a secluded valley some 7 mins. from the large village of Verteillac. Here you can purchase all your needs and find a bank, post office, 2 restaurants, 2 art galleries, bakers, a very large general store and much more. It is 20 mins. drive to the large market town of Riberac, which has all facilities including 3 supermarkets. Aubeterre and Villebois are 25 mins. Angouleme 40 mins. Perigueux 55 mins.

How To Get To St Martial Viveyrol in Dordogne, South West France

Detailed travel information will be given to you.

Driving times from the channel ports are speeding up as new autoroutes are completed. The  nearest ports of St. Malo, Caen and Le Havre are some 6 hrs. away, with the easterly routes taking a few hours more.

Angouleme station, with adjacent hire car offices, for the fast TGV to/from Paris is 40mins drive.The new airport here, 50 mins.

 Bergerac airport is 75 mins Bordeaux 105 mins.away. Poitiers and Limoges a little futher.

Hilltop house has large well planted grounds and is well equipped for outdoor eating,

Adjacent to the kitchen are furnished terraces,(tables, chairs and parasols) with a moveable large gas BBQ with burners and platter. There are a total of 12 excellent quality sunbeds, the majority by the pool, some as you wish in the grounds.

Hilltop House's large, fenced heated swimming pool has Roman steps for the little ones, a deep part for the adventurous, underwater and terrace lighting for evening use. There is a solar shower and plentiful sunbeds and parasols. The terraces are extensive and furnished with a table and chairs.

The tennis court is of a high standard, with a cushioned resin surface and full height practise wall.

The views across the open fields and woods are superb.

Additional price information

  • The prices include all linen, including pool towels if required.
  • Wine and local maps will await your arrival.
  • There will be a starter pack of kitchen consummables such as cling film and paper towels.  We will advise you of supermarkets on your route, so that you can purchase the groceries of  your choice. (Should your flight arrive late, we can shop to your list, for a small charge.)
  • Pool heating is possible and included for the months of May to September, as long as night temperatures are above ten degrees.
  • A deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking.
  • A damage deposit cheque of £200 is required, please see the terms and conditions of booking.
