Beautiful Charentaise House with Pool in Idyllic Setting
A delightful Charentaise house with pool in an idyllic setting, close to the Gironde.
This very large and comfortable, south facing house has been lovingly restored to a high standard. Situated on a hilltop in a quiet hamlet enjoying spectacular views of vineyards and sunflowers. Superb salt water swimming pool surrounded by decking and lawn. Ideal for a family holiday, the wine/cognac connisseur or just a perfect place to relax and unwind.
Holiday Accommodation at Le Braret
Ground Floor
- Kitchen - French doors open onto the kitchen which is large and well fitted with double sink and breakfast bar with stools.
- Lounge - has two comfortable sofas, long dining table, TV, DVD/CD player, playstation (we have a collection of DVDs and games for guests) and a beautiful stone fireplace with wood burner.
- Shower (wet room) - with toilet and basin
- Utility room - with washing machine,dishwasher, large sink and another fridge/freezer.
First Floor
- Bedroom one - a spacious double.
- Bedroom two - the children's bunk room (sleeps four) - 2 cots available
- Bedroom three - A good sized room with twin beds.
- Bedroom four - the master bedroom. All rooms lead off a large hallway with high ceiling.
- Cloakroom - with toilet and hand basin.
- Large family bathroom - with bath, toilet and basin.
All of the rooms are full of character and look out onto a very pretty cottage garden with hollyhocks, mimosa, oleander and roses.
A games cupboard with boules, badminton and board games.
Outside
There is a decked eating area in front of the house with tables, parasol and barbecue.
Ample parking in an enclosed courtyard.
Swimming Pool
The salt water swimming pool is at the back of the property.12 metres x 4.5 metres with a depth of 1m - 2m, with a shallow beach area (perfect for small children) surrounded by decking with loungers and parasols. Beautiful views overlooking the rolling hills towards the Gironde. In the summer months the fields are brimming with sunflowers and maize.
We enjoy a superb micro climate which means that in the summer months it can feel truly tropical. To escape the heat we have a spacious "seaside" room complete with beachut housing a toilet and shower.This is a perfect eating/relaxing area complete with fridge.
GAMES ROOM
Behind the house is a huge barn, ideal for the children or adults to run around in. We have four bicycles for your use, a table tennis table, bar billiards, swing ball and a basketball hoop.

Although benefiting from a truly rural location we are positioned in a perfect place to explore surrounding areas of interest.
Our nearest village, St Ciers du Taillon is 2 kms away. It has a restaurant/bar, small convenience store, bakers, butchers, pharmacy, doctors surgery and post office.
Mirambeau 7 kms has a well-stocked supermarket and all the amenities associated with a larger town. For family days out you can not beat the sheltered beaches in and around Royan 30 minutes away. The Cote Sauvage has mile upon mile of empty beach, perfect for surfing or the naturists among you. The towns of Saintes and Jonzac are great for exploring and a leisurely lunch.
The route verte nearby gives you some fantastic panoramas over the Gironde.
